Not a fan of this one, but we struck out everywhere else. He was our plan c or d, but a priority target for Penn. St. Hopefully their evaluation is correct. 247 ranks him as a top 200 prospect.

We’ll see what the coaches can do with Stokes moving forward but for the sake of recruiting momentum this is great. The Nease HS legacy, local talent, player who has generated buzz in the state, getting Pedo State off our lawn, QB in the class, maybe this makes Wilson’s decision in our favor easier. Wins all around. If we get EWIII tomorrow it will have been a decent week on the trail.

Write ups say Stokes was something of a late bloomer. Suggests his ceiling might be higher than ratings project if he keeps growing and improving, no? Wasn’t AR rated a 3 star in some cases? He’s got Florida buzz if not national appeal so that might mean something to in state players who know him better.
And now with Webb we’re continuing to reestablish the Jax footprint and sending the Pedos packing a second time in one day…

I like that he’s in-state, reasonably highly rated etc. Seeems to have been most of Nease’s offense, which suggests he was the focus of every defense. Looking at his stats and highlights, looks to me like he runs really well, makes plays with his arm but he’s not laser accurate and puts a lot of air under deep balls. I liked plays where he could have run but stopped to hit a mid-range pass.
We’ll see how he improves his senior year. I’d like to see his completion rate rise to 65%+ and his interceptions drop a lot.

This has been a good day for us. Wilson tomorrow will cap it off really well. Don't really know much on Stokes but he's a home state kid and the fact he flipped from PedoU is good. They do seem to recruit well, so I'll take this as a win for the good guys. Very happy today and a much needed recruiting boost for Napier.

To be fair, I think anyone we would’ve landed would’ve obviously have been at least somewhat of a plan B given our push for Rashada. The fact that we get a top 10 QB we can build around I think is a positive. I also think it is a credit to the staff that they recognized the importance and immediately addressed it. And on lesser note, you don’t reassert dominance in FL recruiting by letting a Jax kid got to Penn State. So this could turn out to be a divided play.

This probably was the single most biggest point you made. It will be a while before we know but it may be a good thing taking Stokes vs. Rashada. But win the state and for them to go in a grab two, flipping a QB from PedoU is huge.

We need to dominate FL...So FL has always been competitive but Tampa, Jax, and Orlando should be ours.
