From watching his highlight tape, this kid is a huge project just because of the terrible competition he is playing against. He outweighs his opponent by 100 pounds. There is one thing that did stick out to me. Coming out of his stance, his feet are way too slow. SEC speed rushers will brutalize him. In the kid's defense, he doesn't need much technique in the league he plays in. Maybe the feet will improve once he gets some coaching. I don't see the reason for taking the kid. I'm not trying to be a dumper, but why take this kind of a project?
Which means he will need to start out at guard.

Good point but Humphries doesn’t belong on that list. He played well at UF and was a 1st round draft pick.
He was always undersized and got pushed around a lot. Tested great at the combine and creeped into the 1st

So rivals came out with their new rankings. They’ve kept Chauncey Bowens in the mid 200s for the last year. And in March, on their last update, they had him at number 218.

He then committed to Georgia over the weekend (and decommitted from us) so they just bumped him to number 61.

Lol.

And a freshman All American and pro bowler.

Just noting he’s no Martez Ivey.
So a position where Freshman don’t normally play, but had to put of necessity. Meaning he didn’t have to compete against many freshman to garner that and he got developed after he left, when someone figured out how to get him over 275. And one pro bowl season. Not multiple, one.

And an important distinction, Sporting News All American isn’t as big a deal as you think it is.

No one ever talks about him because his entire UF career was forgettable.

And Ivey was an UDFA who didn’t stick, hasn’t played a down in the nfl. Humphries has 83 starts. No comparison.

Sure there is, both underwhelming 5* OT’s in college.

I think Chauncey is a little bytch, afraid to make a program instead of joining one already made. He would make the NFL whether he plays for the Dwags, us, or Samford….so that should have no bearing. He’s just afraid of the challenge.

Perhaps this, but maybe he's looking at the depth chart ETN is only a SO, Webb a FR and he'd have to compete in his class with Daniels.

Georgia has B. Robinson who's a SO, and R. Robinson is a FR with no other RB in this class.

New commit:

Not sure how to evaluate this one. He is an OL from Germany and is unranked (likely due to the fact he is from Germany). He's 6'5" 334lbs and had offers from Auburn and S. Carolina as well.

From some quick Google searching, looks like he is likely to play guard:

Id really like to see us lock down Florida before we start dominating the trails in Germany....just thinking out loud here!

I’ll take it. Size and strength can’t be taught. Could turn out to be serviceable. Plus, as far from home as he is, at least there’s no closer school he could transfer back to if he gets homesick. Let’s see if we can get him admitted. Will tell us a lot about where we are as far as commitment to football.

I wasn't impressed by the Mike Williams take at all. But, the German kid? No doubt he is raw and will need to adjust. To me, his athleticism is SEC caliber. You can teach technique. You can't teach speed, explosiveness...etc.

This next clip, compare his feet to Mike Williams tape. There is a world of difference.

Again, I like his feet. Nice center of gravity. I like this take.
