There are three major changes that need to occur.

1) find a way to inspire the guys to play on the road.

2) find a way to fix special teams in the short term. Need a change there announced at seasons end.

3) announce the hiring of an offensive coordinator as soon as they land one. We gave Napier long enough to figure it out. He’s not that dude.

Number 3 will determine if he is still coach at the end of next season.

I dont think it really matters or is worth arguing about. Whether we want to admit it or not, tater salad's days are probably numbered. And with the new age of transfer rules the fact that he may or may not pull in a top class is irrelevant bc many of the blue chips that come are going to bail when hes shown the door.

The quality of the ingredients for a meal are of little importance when the chef doesn't know how cook.
Yeah I mean whether it's this year or next, nothing is being built here. We'll be starting over again anyhow this off season or next. Hard for me to take recruiting seriously right now.

Ah, so now recruiting is completely meaningless and irrelevant, this is a new one. I gotta give you guys credit, you continually come up with new stuff.

I guess we can go ahead and close this thread.

5* OT Jordan Seaton was just interviewed. He said the main reason that Florida is still in it with him (and the reason he is doing his official there this weekend) is because of Napier. UF does not do in season officials, but they made an exception for Seaton because of his value as a recruit.

He said that Napier is probably the most real of all the coaches. He said nobody hits him up more than UF and that nobody’s communication with him is more genuine than Billy Napier.

However, he wants to spend time with Rob Sale on this official. He wants Rob Sale to show and prove to him that he is able to sharpen and develop OL talent. He wants him to break down film in front of him and he wants to see how the OL has developed at UF.

He said he does not care about being in the “official day” pictures. He said he does not care about the stadium experience. He said he does not care about all the glitz and glam. The most important thing for him is how will Rob Sale get him into the NFL.

Sounds pretty level headed and smart for a teenager.

I think he’s a pretty good developer of talent. I think the bigger issue is we do not have any personable OL coaches. The reason Alabama and Georgia have dominated so long on their lines of scrimmage are because they’ve had really personable OL coaches. We need somebody who can go out and recruit elite OL. They just can’t hope to be able to develop every low ranked recruit.

With that being said @GatorJ who out of the two OL do you feel is more valuable.

If BN does go out and get an OC, that is the area that would presumably get cut first (1 of the 2 OL coaches).

Also, I know what you see on the field is critical to most "croots". But are many of them looking at the NFL more than anything else? Also when they see what is going on they tell themselves, "I can be a fix there". But in all, BN has got to sell it, change the offensive issue in order to keep things rolling. That personable approach that Seaton talks about is a good sign from that perspective.

That kid has his head right. That is exactly the kind of guy we want. They better do everything in their power to provide exactly what he's looking for.

Reading between the lines, Seaton doesn't GAF if UF wins games or not. At least he's honest about that.

I miss the good ole days of recruiting when all it took was hookers and blow.

Sale. The other guy was brought in to help with recruiting more than anything, I think. But it hasn’t worked out. So either keep Sale and find someone else on the staff to recruit OL, or fire them both and bring in an OL coach who can recruit and develop.

Personally, I think Napier should fire both OL coaches and hire an aggressive, modern offense OC. Then hire 1 OL coach who can recruit and develop.

Then make one of your positional coaches, the ST coordinator. Unless the NCAA approves an additional coaching position.

If Napier goes out and hires Jeff Scott as his OC he could also double as the WR coach, Gonzalez could hit the curb and Napier could keep his 2 OL coaches. Or Gonzales could take another role; ST coach?
