You're comparing apples and crabapples. He may have a chance to play if he joins sharkboy in Michigan but he will probably end up like:

Kids want to play. Experience and tape of some kind is better than none. If Max slides back to 3rd, he won't get it. And if I'm not mistaken, EJ has been given the chance to start everywhere he's gone.

Douglas hurts but we can pick up a portal WR with more skills. He was just now learning the position.

If I'm allowed to praise Billy at all here, I will say he has done things for the players that will make them think twice before leaving like in past years. Their apartment situation, NIL, the food they eat and even the parking nightmare they have faced for years all transformed by Napier after years of being a cluster fuch.

He just has to convince them and their families he can get them in the league. That's going to be a tough sell with the numbers we have put up on both sides of the ball.

Now if Billy could just learn to be a good game day coach we’d be set.

So far, the portal departures, other than Norman, have not been a big deal. With Mertz coming back and Lagway showing up in January, Brown was unlikely to see the field next season. Smart move on his part. Douglas had potential, I thought, to be a solid receiver, but he wasn’t going to be a star. Norman hurts, but it doesn’t sound like he had any issues with the coaching or program and this is about his family.

The Wilson situation is interesting. While he has yet to live up to his potential, I wonder is Raymond’s departure is a factor in him maybe not transferring? We’ll see, I suppose.

In general the transfer portal has so far been lacking in high level talent across the board. I’ve only seen a couple of guys I wished we had a shot with.

I'm not trying to say things are good, because they aren't, but some of this stuff is so silly and over the top. When fans turn on a coach, they come up with insane stuff and exaggerate everything.
Good point. Couldn't agree with you more. Matter of fact, I don't think I've ever read a post where you've overreacted, exaggerated or even said anything silly.

My thing about Kamari is, if he had switched to linebacker when the staff asked him to he would have played a lot this year. By the end of the season, I’m surprised we didn’t have Alberta lining up at the SAM

I haven't seen anything that indicates this but it's a flip of a coin at this point.
Not really due to my analysis, but just what I’ve heard from the GNFP is that his schemes are sound and are high level, the players were the problem primarily. They did think he should’ve dumbed down the defense once it was obvious they couldn’t perform consistently.

Scheme doesn't mean that much. You can copy anyone's scheme. I'm sure there's a bunch of guys using the same scheme as shart but that doesn't mean they'll win. It's knowing when to employ what coverage from play to play, adapting the scheme to hide your players weaknesses and emphasize their strengths, etc.

If scheme was the important thing, everyone would just memorize the playbook in Madden and call it a day.
