It is strange that some people see something in SB that, for the life of me , I just can't see it.
I have a friend that knew him as far back as Furman. Coached at App State against Billy a couple time.
Keeps telling me how disciplined his teams are, how the execution is off the charts, how organized, how strong and fast his teams play.
I'm standing there shaking my head, Like What???

Saw him last year at a Christmas party, then saw him again a few weeks ago at the same party, new year.

He asked me, "So, what do you think about Naps?"

I went on a 10 minute rant about 10 men on the field, two O line coaches, terrible play calling, weak team that doesn't want to hit, etc...etc.

He just shook his head and said, he needs time to get his guys on the roster, that will buy into his type of discipline and execution on the field.

I just walked away....... Well, I haven't seen any evidence at all that he can do any of those things. If I could, I would pay his buy out and send him back to the Sunbelt, where he belongs.
Dang Brother. Sounds like you might have been at a party with the Branch Davidians or the Stepford Wives! I guess people want their friends and acquaintances to do well, hence the narrative that persists about the discipline, execution, buy in, etc. that so many of us have seen sorely lacking. If Billy is truly the young Saban that he was sold as, which it’s easy to be skeptical of with all the gaffs and two seasons of losing records, then the helm of an SEC school expected to contend has kicked him in the teeth. It’s rough enough to make the term “Long Game”sound like sometime after most of us are dead or in assisted care.

You definitely sound like the kind of blast at Christmas parties that I expected. He stood around long enough to listen to your 10 minute whiny rant?

You don't talk Football at Christmas parties?
Hell, Every single person there, was a fan of some team or another.
Did you know the Citadel didn't win a single game this season?
App State fans, One single Ga fan, NO fsu fans, a LSU guy that's a judge in Jacksonville, a bunch of South Carolina Fans, one Clemson fan and me, the only Gator.

We drink, we tell stories, we sit by the fire, we drink some more, we sing along to 80's classic rock and some old country and, talk about College Football.
At some point we eat some smoked ribs, and brisket, then exchange those silly azz secret santa gifts. (Just to appease the ladies).

If that doesn't sound like fun, who the hell are you???

Not to me. Pearsall was good but Trey is better
This....I appreciate the effort Pearsall put in here but Tre has MUCH more upside in my opinion. I'm also not sure why everyone in here sleeps on Jackson...he made several phenomenal catches where he used his body perfectly and then laid out to make the catch...including the one he was robbed of against LSU....it was a catch by any definition of the rule book.

Once Tre gets a year stronger he will be one of the top WR's in the country.

Agreed.
But, this is where I start worrying about the portal.
Kid is a phenomenal talent.

If we can't get him the ball next year, then what?

Cannot understand the “long term plan”. Kids, these days, leave even in the middle of their first year. BN was hired to rebuild the program quickly. Given the fast changing circumstances in the college football, why do we need a long term plan? How do other mediocre programs recruit better than us without a long term plan? What is their long term plan?

The long term plan is to drag out the long term plan as long as possible so Scottie can keep his job as long as possible
