I've been working on this today,Enjoy!

QBs- (2) Feleipe Franks - Early Enrollee
Kyle Trask - Early Enrollee

We needed a future QB and we got one in Feleipe Franks who's a Top 50 composite QB.
Kyle Trask is a big kid with a good arm. He's a project but he's very low risk, high reward.

We are done at QB.

RBs - (2) Mark Thompson - Early Enrollee
Lamical Perine - Solid, no more visits

We needed two more RBs and we grabbed our top guys early and moved on to the rest of the class.

We are done at RB.

WRs - (4) Joshua Hammond - Early Enrollee
Freddie Swain - Early Enrollee
Dre Massey - Early Enrollee
Rick Wells - Solid but still visiting other schools

Remaining Board: Eli Stove ( Official Visit to UF this weekend)
Tyrie Cleveland (Official Visit to UF on 1/29)
Tre Nixon (possible Official Visit to UF)
Nate Craig-Myers (longshot)
Sam Bruce (down the board)

Most likely we get One more from the above list but two is a strong possibility. With three of our top targets already going through Spring workouts, we have already met the needs at WR. Adding Stove and Cleveland would make this one of the best WR classes ever for Florida.

Tight End (1) - None currently committed

Remaining Board: Nick Eubanks (Official Visit to UF this weekend)

We appear to be all in for Nick Eubanks. Hopefully this one happens this weekend. I've noticed we don't seem to be turning up the heat recruiting others so I'm taking that as a positive.

Offensive Lineman - (3) Stone Forsythe - Early Enrollee
Brett Heggie - Solid, no more visits
Jawaan Taylor - Solid, no more visits

Remaining Board: Landon Dickerson (Officially visited on Jan 15)
John Simpson (Officially visited on Jan 15)
Malcolm Pridgeon (Officially Visited on Dec 11)
Greg Eiland (longshot)

Some concern for me that Eiland is getting a visit after hosting Simpson and Dickerson. I think the we made big moves for Simpson and Dickerson but we NEED at least one more OL. I think Mac is definitely covering our bases here,so we'll see what happens.

Defensive End - (3) Jordan Smith (Early Enrollee)
Antonneous Clayton (solid, no planned visits except UF)
Jachai Polite (Solid, possible visit to USC)

Remaining Board: Brian Burns

Brian Burns appears to be the only realistic option left on the board. This group is all about adding Burns and holding onto Clayton and Polite. If we can do that, this Defensive End class will be Stout.

Defensive Tackle - (1) Shavar Manuel (solid, Officially Visits Florida Jan 22)

Remaining Board: None.

We got our top target here. Dexter Lawrence was the other big fish but he went to Clemson. Shavar Manuel is an excellent prospect and I look forward to him getting back to his five star form under Rumph and the Gator conditioning staff.

We're done at DT

Linebackers - (3) David Reese (Early Enrollee)
Jeremiah Moon (solid, Officially visits Florida Jan 29)
Vosean Joseph (shaky, possibly flip to Alabama - Officially Visits Florida Jan 22)

Remaining Board: Mack Wilson (Officially Visits Florida Jan 29)
Jaleel Laguins (Officially Visited Florida Jan 15)
Josh Uche (Officially Visits Florida Jan 29)
Dontavious Jackson (Officially Visited Florida Jan 15)
Elysee Mbem Bossee (Officially Visits Florida Jan 22)
Dee Walker (possible visit?)

We must bring in at least 3 linebackers. The class is currently a prospective class with lower ranked players with big potential. However, the class could easily jump to elite with Mack Wilson and Uche but we have a lot of work left to do to make that happen.

Defensive Backs - (6) Chauncey Gardner (Early Enrollee)
McArthur Burnett (Early Enrollee)
Quincy Lenton (solid, officially visits Florida Jan 29?)
Jaewon Taylor (solid, Officially visits Florida Jan 29)
Aaron Robinson (shaky, grades, no official)
Christopher McWilliams (solid, officially visits Florida Jan 29)
Antonio Nelson (solid, Officially visits Florida Jan 29)

Remaining Board: Kristian Fulton (Officially Visits Jan 29)
Tyler Byrd (longshot to rejoin class)

I think we have the numbers but the elite talent level we're use to at DB isn't there yet. Adding Fulton would be huge for this DB class.

Kickers - (1) Eddie Pineiro (Early Enrollee)

Remaining Board: Mitchell Wasson (PK)

We blasted one out the park in this department! Now we're after Wasson he's being recruited as a walk on which would only make this better and hopefully put our FG kicking issues behind us.

Overall, I think this is a class that is deserving of its Top 5-8 ranking (depending on what site you use)
The 12 early enrollees are huge and should not be forgotten about.

One thing this coaching staff has showed is they don't care about rankings and go after the guys they think are best for them. A lot of those underranked players that our coaches targeted early have been heavily coveted late in the recruiting process. That tells me they were RIGHT on their evaluations.

That being said, it's going to get interesting over the next 2 weeks and hopefully we finish strong. Go :chomp:

You're right. We close on Stove and Cleveland this may be the best receiver class we've had. If not, it's solid but not great.

If we close on Burns, I think this will also be one of the best DE classes in the nation.

Linebacker class is going to be boom or bust. It's the position I'm most worried about.

Tyler Byrd was an absolute terror at the Army All American.

Great post and recap

QB - after seeing Franks in the AA Game, I'm wondering if Trask won't see the field first. I still think Jake Allen will be the next big time QB here.
RB - check
WR - I think we add two more. Cleveland has to see his potential in this offense. Not sure who the other one may be. It may be very possible that Stove,
Bruce, and Nixon may all want in before NSD gets here.
TE - I think Eubanks will be in the class.
OL - Dickerson and Simpson look like guards and Pridgeon and Eiland look like tackles. Assuming we want one G and one T out of those 4.
DE - Looks like Jefferson and Polite could put on some weight, where Clayton and Burns might be speed rush or hybrid guys. Nice group
DT - I think Manuel will be a sleeper and really make an impact in a year or two.
LB - I agree with J, that this is the most unsettling position. For whatever reason, I have a feeling about Jackson. If I had to make a guess, I'd say we add Uche
and Jackson....lose Joseph....and replace with one of the lower ranked guys from your group. I am absolutely stoked that Reese came in at 240.
CB - If we could get both Fulton and Byrd, it would be sick, but that's just wishful thinking. If we keep Robinson (and get him admitted) and add Fulton, then
we've got a heck of a CB class.
S - Lenton and Taylor could be two solid safeties in the future. Lots of good things said about them, but there are reasons why they are 3* guys. Maybe they
develop, maybe they don't. This position group is saved by the fact that Gardner is likely a S or Nickel.
K - check

What's disappointing is Byrd was committed to us and Callahan backed off on him so he decommitted. Another example why he's no longer on the staff.

We get

Cleveland
Burns
Fulton
Pridgeon
Uche

And we lose
Nelson
Taylor( the saftey)

Would be a good scenario assuming we keep everyone else. That would be as good of a class we've had in a long time.

Y'all think we have a shot at Cleveland? Seems like he's a perfect fit at Houston and he's a local boy.

And, that's some hefty work Marianna! Nice job.

I'm pretty sure that most of his family is in FL, and he was from here originally. I don't recall where I read that, but I'm pretty sure it was him.

I'm not even sure he will be able to see the field from where he will be sitting. He's right behind Josh Grady and Jacob Guy, who are behind the cheerleaders.

Yes sir...we have a shot here! People are already starting to predict that we land him and I hope they are right. Also, his parents have already stated (in public) that they would rather him to go to school out of state. Since we're the only out of state school in the running for him, that's a great thing.

Coach Mac & Staff hit 21 high school's on Tuesday.

SEC
Country Staff

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — When Jim McElwain first took over at Florida and started recruiting for the Gators, he vowed to get to “as many places as humanly possible” during the 2015 contact period.

He and his assistants are doing the same for the 2016 cycle.

After visiting a half-dozen Gators commits over the weekend and Monday, the UF coaching staff visited 21 high schools on Tuesday.

McElwain and running backs coach Tim Skipper attended the Theodore (Ala.) High School basketball game to cheer on RB commit Lamical Perine.

Also during their day in Alabama, McElwain and Skipper checked out 2017 safety Kendarian Handy-Holly (Jackson), 2017 defensive endRyan Johnson (Mobile St. Paul’s) and 2018 cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis, who received an offer from Florida.

Offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier, defensive line coach Chris Rumph and linebackers coach Randy Shannon were at the Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage basketball game to watch defensive end Brian Burns and tight end Nick Eubanks. The two teammates will officially visit UF this weekend.

Earlier in the day, Nussmeier was in Fort Lauderdale at St. Thomas Aquinas, home to Miami wide receiver commit Sam Bruce, Florida 2017 quarterback commit Jake Allenand 2017 five-star Trevon Grimes. Bruce also plans to visit the Gators this weekend, while Allen and Grimes will attend Florida’s Junior Day on Jan. 30.

Defensive coordinator Geoff Collins traveled to Birmingham (Ala.) Hoover to visit UF linebacker commit Jeremiah Moon. He just visited Mississippi State but says he’s solid with the Gators.

Collins then made his way to the Peach State for Watkinsville Oconee County linebacker and UGA commit Jaleel Laguins, who was impressed by his Florida trip last weekend. Collins also visited four 2017 prospects in the state of Georgia — UGA linebacker commit Breon Dixon(Suwanee Peachtree Ridge), cornerbacksDeangelo Gibbs (Suwanee Grayson) and William Poole III (Atlanta Hapeville Charter) and defensive end M.J. Webb (Madison Morgan )

Wide receivers coach Kerry Dixon hit Miami high schools Gulliver Prep and Southridge, which features two 2017 wide receivers with offers from Florida (Kemore Gamble and Rodney Scott).

With UF short-staffed, quality control assistant Marquel Blackwell hit the road for the Gators and went to South Florida to visit FSU 2017 running back commit Zaquandre White (North Fort Myers) and 2017 wide receiver Darrian Felix (Fort Myers). Blackwell also attempted to see cornerback Tyler Byrd of Naples, but his high school coach would not let him speak with the Miami pledge.

Offensive line coach Mike Summers visited Philadelphia (Miss.) offensive tackle Greg Eiland in hopes of convincing the Mississippi State commit to take an official to UF. Tight ends coach Greg Nord visited four Tallahassee (Fla.) high schools — Leon, Lincoln, North Florida Christian and Rickards

Hiring these Little League dung coaches make me think of the old phrase, penny wise pound foolish.

Does anyone seriously think that Bama would hire these directional school coaches? That's why they are elite and we are third or fourth tier.

Do you think that the hiring of assistants is determined by budget only? I.e., Foley doesn't allow for big budget assistant coaches. Or do you think Mac may have pursued bigger names from bigger schools and was turned down? Seems like the situation with the Oregon coach last year was not a money issue (although the whole story of that never came out from behind the curtain).
Hopeful that the new DB coach will be a more established guy.
