Disappointing Signing Day

We lost our 2nd highest rated DB and our ONLY DT. Lost out on Fulton and Simpson. Great win in Cleveland. Defensive recruiting was very bad this cycle and there needs to be a major shakeup with the coaches.

We didn't fully address our needs at DB, LB, DT, or OL.
We addressed them at QB, K, and WR, and DE.

We are consistently ranked 3rd in just our state in recruiting in-state talent. Clemson may have gotten more talent out of Florida than we did this year.

Just disappointing.

Class was not as good as it needed to be. Mac showed he can get an offense going with a decent QB, 1 WR and no OL... hopefully Del Rio, Tyrie and Calloway can help make the D look better.

Well hopefully the coaches get the most of the players. I would rather have the players be ranked as a 3* but play as a 5*, than the other way around.

I really feel like this was the last year that the stench of Muschamp will infect recruiting. The nose dive at the end of the year was directly related to the poor talent evaluation from the previous staff, specifically the belief that treon could even be a serviceable QB at the D1 level. The Grier/Treon fiasco stalled a lot of momentum and the only thing I can really blame the staff for is not overcoming that.. Really it was a tough out and I'm actually proud of all the work they got done on the front end. My only other wish is that we had DT backup plans in place.

There's no way to sugarcoat this. We got worse on defense today, but better on offense. I am all for Mac giving his coaching staff an enema to flush out the ones who aren't pulling their weight on the recruiting trail.

I agree. Glad someone else on here is rational enough to see it. We'll be okay. Just not great. We need to somehow get great again.

Not at DB? The coaching staff would disagree since they recruited about six of them. It's not about addressing your needs this year, it's about addressing your needs for the year after. Most of these players will not play as freshmen.

I think Mac gets a pass for last year. muschamp had us at like 100 before being fired, mac saved us.
