Going on 8 years of crappy football. I'd say probably a full decade. Next year this team will look worse on defense and still inept on offense. So what's going to be the excuse next year with the kind of schedule we are going to have. I can count 3-4 loses next year...but I am sure UF will have no problem sending me a renewal invoice to watch this abortion on the field. Sick and tired of the excuses

Ask a pumper. I'm sure it will be something about Muschamp's fault and how Foley made a great hire in McElwain. I don't know, but you are right. It will be a decade or longer that we're on par w/ Miss State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, etc (perennial 7-5, 8-4 type teams, teams that think 9 or 10 wins is a heck of a year).

Would like to take a second to say I appreciate the freedom to be critical of coachies on this forum. Was just over at another, and there are 3 threads that are negatively titled about Mac or the need to bench del Rio, and even though some of them clearly had responses initially, they can't be opened. A prompt appears stating the viewer is trying to view premium content. They're on the free board.

Don't waste your time on Gatorcountry. It's a joke and the admin's there have their heads shoved fully up the UAA and McElwain's ass.

SC's play is improving and the offense is scoring at a nice clip. Our play is not improving and offense is lucky to eke out 250 yards per game. So yeah, SC will come in here full of confidence and wanting to prove a point for their coach.

Okay you want the truth, if it takes a loss to Chump to get Butters bags packed, then I am all for it. Look, losing to Mississippit State in 2004 was an absolute blessing b/c Fooley could not see the obvious. Chump losing to GSU and failing to get a punt off against USCe was a blessing b/c Fooley could not see the obvious. Since we have administrators who only see the stat lines (i.e.record) and don't watch the games, then it might be best that we lose early and often so someone can show Butters the moving van!!!!!

Could that set a wave of possibly having Mac fired by year 2? Cuz we all know recruiting will all but continue to be mediocre this year...

I remember once the recruiting class was finished and most of the assistants returned thinking that last year was probably Butter's best year and that the future looked bleak

The signs were all there, a Wac coach who couldnt even win his division, a coordinator fired twice in tow years and known for 100+offenses, a DC who was going to get fired and who was best known for givig up 500 yards in the big games.

The good news is that the upcoming shyt the bed again finish to the season is going to make the new ADs choice clear.

The bad news is the next dude will inherit an even deeper hole and a roster that will rival Kintucky in talent. We will be 3 years from being a second tier team and at least that many more even if we got an incredible hire.

Thanks Fooley!

Aside from all the money tied up in coaching salaries between Chump and Mac, there's not really another reason you can't make the change. Especially with a new AD. Normally I would be more hesitant because of the recruiting. But the recruiting has sucked.

It's not like the class would all the sudden fall apart.

Exactly, and if it did, is it really that big of a deal? Those 3 stars aren't going anywhere. They know Florida is the best they are ever going to get.

I really, really doubt it. We are forced to watch and our boys forced to play for this shyt staff at least one more year.

**Breaking News** LSU is playing the Machine, lights out on D... I'm so excited we're going to Death Valley now Foley, led by our Boy Scout leader-like coach (no disrespect to Boy Scouts Leaders, I'm an Eagle Scout) with a team on 3 wheels and the physical strength character of a chess team. Oh boy, we better strap ourselves in to avoid whiplash and all the other trimmings of a t-bone accident. Just saying.

This is huge. Anybody who has been watching the last half of last season and up to this point in this season can see a Coach/coaches who have no answers what so ever....They don't even make the SLIGHTEST adjustments from quarter to quarter and game to game....NONE.
There are typically 2 signs to lost coaches. The first is they over adjust not allowing players a chance to transition to plays and formation changes OR they just keep pressing on with what isn't working.....we've got the latter on our hands.

At this point its more of a risk keeping him. This is already gonna be a weak recruiting class. Why wait till next year and have another one ?

I don't think anyone that committed to UF would de-commit if CJM got canned. I think it could only help our recruiting process, we couldn't hire a downgraded coach now if we tried, I think it would be impossible! If Les miles was hired tonight there would be a line of kids outside his office waiting to sign a LOI tomorrow morning. My God, with our current facilities and the ones in the planning stages UF is going to be one of the newest, most high tech, state of the art programs in the country! Urban was a special, a once in a lifetime hire. When he signed with Florida I didn't know that much about him except he came from Utah. Utah for God's sake!!! I said "why are these idiots hiring him?" Then I checked him out, Utah and Bowling Green and thought, "why are these idiots hiring him?" You better rethink this decision, but look what happened. So when they hired McElwain I said, maybe he's the next Urban... WRONG. Time to put this experiment to bed and start the search in earnest for a head coach that is worthy to lead the once mighty Gator Nation, a proven winner, a proven recruiter, a fair, honest and ethical coach. A coach that can lead us back to the glory days of the likes of S.O.S. and Urban Meyer, someone deserving of our trust, support and faith. I can only pray that A) the search has already started and B) Austin Appleby is starting next Saturday. Good night and God bless Gator Nation.

SC's QB has been playing really good and our QB has been getting worse and worse so yeah as of right now, I think without a doubt that SC beats us pretty easily if Mac doesn't change things up. Our D is in shambles now and we have injuries everywhere. No way we beat LSU and FSU on the road either. We don't win another game the rest of the year just like last year. There is certainly NOISE in the SYSTEM!!
