I didn't read the whole thing, somebody let me know if you can play your old nintendo games on this machine cause if you can't, it's worthless imo. I still have old game cartridges laying around that I loved to play but can't find a working machine to play them on.

You can find those machines at virtually any GameStop or UR Games.

This device has something like 30 games pre-installed.

you cannot play the cartridges on this platform. i would say it has a flash memory of some sort, preloaded, like J said.

Here's an amazon link to a machine that you can play your cartridges on though
Amazon product

also like J said, you can get them at any new/used video game store (unless they are sold out, of course)

I have my old NES, working on cleaning it out... but I'm still getting one of these, maybe one for my nieces as well... because they need to know their history.

They may sell over a billion of these, all from people aged 35 to 50.

It's only 30 games, but 10-15 of those games are all time classics.

I've seen Raspberry PI versions that do this. Not sure if it's the same thing or not.

I need an excuse to buy one of those PIs anyway. They are so cute.

I was in Game Stop a few days ago with my 8 & 9 y/olds - :suspect: - I followed up with "the guy" there about whether they were offering a pre-order on the NES systems or not. they have a list that they've been taking for a while of people interested in these in case a pre-order option surfaced (i'm like 3rd on the list -) He said that they will not offer the pre-order, but it'd be a first come first serve basis and they likely would not get many per store - typical of Nintendo.

if you want one for christmas, my suggestion is to get your credit card in hand and be prepared to order as soon as they are released
the scheduled release date is Nov. 11th

here's a link to a story that I found verifying the release date confirming this info

Thread title is misleading. NES isn't returning. A shrunken down fake model with only a few games you can play on the installed ROM, isn't even close to the same.

while it looks great and I eventually will get the problem i have with it is how they designed the guts. they essentially made it impossible to download or add new games to it. Unless they eventually make a add on component this is all you are getting with it. While the game list is great there are still many i would like and would buy on cartridge if possible. I need Kung Fu

There are some great PC emulators available and you can get ROMs for most games. Nestopia is one emulator but there are others.
