Just ran across this:

The Gaddys will visit Florida on January 27. If they are given the green light to commit to the Gators, look for both to flip their commitment once again. Obviously, Florida wants to do their due diligence on if the Gaddys can qualify. Maryland appears to be convinced both brothers can get into school, and that was one reason they were more than willing to take their pledges.

Any word on Nord getting his pink slip? The longer this man is on our coaching staff the longer we will flail in recruiting. I'm also curious if/when Summers gets his walking papers. This staff has about 3-4 huge dead-weight disasters that need to move on. But I'm not greedy, I'll take Nord and be happy....but much happier if Summers is included. With Summers interviewing w/ Muschamp in the last few weeks there has to be something going on w/ the OL position. We'll see.

I expect Nord to be let go soon...probably before the end of the week.

I read some gossip scoop that Summers may not be coaching OL next year but stay on staff in some kind of support role. I'm sure he'd rather be coaching which is why he interviewed with Mussy... BUT it seems like Mac does intend to improve that position as well.

I'd be in favor of Summers staying on staff in a support role if possible. The players really like him and it would provide some continuity with staff, players, and recruits. I'd think they'd like to have him around since they know him and are comfortable with him but would also appreciate Mac bringing in the best coach possible for them. It'd be kind of a, "have your cake and eat it situation"...

I think one really big plus with the coaching searches is that you have some flexibility with Dixon and Skipper. For instance, if the Craig rumor has any legs, you could move Dixon to TE and let Craig coach the WR. Although, the way the WR have played, I would fire Dixon to get Craig.

Skipper could coach LBs which would allow flexibility for an offensive coach hire like Locksley.

If we got rid of Nuss, we could have 4 really good upgrades.

Had Kiffin been there, Bama wins in a landslide. I think it was pretty obvious that Kiffin had a connection with Hurts that Sark did not. Ultimately Saban cut off his nose by cutting Kiffin loose.
what you didn't like the game plan where he wasn't allowed to throw passes over 10 yards.

Threw could've run that ball down Clemson's throats with timely passes sprinkled in. Hurts just seemed to be lacking confidence the whole game

From Zach A's story:

UF makes the cut for uncommitted lineman
Caleb Chandler has narrowed his list of offers to three finalists.

The 3-star offensive tackle from Jefferson, Ga., will officially visit Louisville (Jan. 13), Oklahoma State (Jan. 20) and Florida (Jan. 27) before making his commitment on Jan. 30.

UF is also scheduled to host Michigan OT commit Kai-Leon Herbert (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) on that final weekend before signing day.

The Gators are tying to land at least one more lineman in addition to 4-star commits T.J. Moore (Charlotte, N.C.) and Kadeem Telfort (Miami), who is one of six mid-year enrollees for Florida.

McElwain officially welcomed Telfort to the program Monday after he cleared admissions.

Also from same story, about S Devon Hunter:

The Gators have been targeting Hunter for the past year and he visited UF in the spring and summer. He communicates regularly with coach Jim McElwain and secondary coach Torrian Gray, his primary recruiter.

“Florida is DBU,” Gray said. “I got a great relationship with coach Gray and coach Mac. They text me all the time and speak highly of me. I can see myself there because they play a lot of young guys. I see Chauncey (Gardner) on the field making plays and doing his thing out there. They say it’s a great opportunity for me to come in there and start. That’s what I love about the school.”

Hunter is scheduled to visit Florida (Jan. 13), Auburn (Jan. 20) and Alabama (Jan. 27). He plans to reach a decision shortly before National Signing Day on Feb. 1.

I agree. His recruiting is one of the things that makes him the best, but when you get the #1 class every year... you are expected to win the title every year
Tough to do with a Freshman QB. Their offense just wasn't great in the playoffs.

In the bizzarro world that is NCAA rules, players can have unlimited access to quality controls assts but not asst coaches.

Those guys actually cut film of practices and make corrections, show them game film etc. Its just another coach in all reality. The reality is that for right now, these guys dont make much money. However Bammer hires every fired head coach who is already getting paid by some other school. Eventually there will be some competition for these guys.
