Fake News: Locksley inks deal with UF

From another site. Locksley to UF is not happening ... In my opinion, after watching Mac pat himself on the back for making to ATL his first two years he was never going to make any changes.
Probably not going to happen...

As most of you have figured out my Coach 1 is Mike Locksley. I have had a relationship with Locks since he worked here under Zook as I did and was very excited when I was told he was coming.
I have been in contact with him over the last few weeks and let me assure you that it is no accident that some of the visitors we have coming in on visits were helped by him, He was set on coming.
I found out through a very reliable source that although it isn't 100% done that he isn't coming, it is very unlikely at this point.
He has several opportunities, including staying at Alabama and those aree the main reasons this is not likely to happen.
If there is any decent news out of this, they are in search of a similar type of coach, although I couldn't tell you who, because I haven't heard.
I will tell more in a bit, but this isn't a Florida vs Bama thing honestly, although it will appear to be from the outside.
I know we are going to be all over the "we should have made him come a few weeks ago" line, and honestly I can't disagree with that. There are a lot of times when Mac needs to step up the pressure and get things done. However, this situation is a little different and when I am able to tell more you will understand the situation a little better.
Having said all of that. I know Mac wants to find someone that can help influence a dual threat QB threat in the offense. He also want an ace recruiter. That is the direction we need to look when finding a guy to fill the spot Locksley was going to take.

To me, it's just like recruiting an athlete. They weigh their options and if they really don't want to go somewhere, they don't. It's a tough decision for them, taking into account family and lots of other things.
