I'm in, and live only an hour and a half away, and am damn interesting company. Ox will be lucky to host me.

No, reel was fine....but it's still a goner. Was the reel damaged? Never seen one break like that.
I'm sure it had some sort of stress fracture from being tossed around in the Vette. No, reel was fine....but it's still a goner.
Good fishing this morning at the spot. Caught 38. Overall, quantity was better than quality, as at least 30 of them were under a pound. Still fun as hell though.
On fish #18, on what was my biggest fish of the day to that point (about 2.5 pounds), my reel snapped right off the rod in the middle of the fight. I had to pull the fish in by hand. Good thing I had a second rod with me or I would have been done right there.
This was the biggest one:
Yes. Well, it WAS one, anyway. It had caught hundreds of bass, but that still shouldn't have happened. Is that a Shimano Sienna reel?

Did you read my pm?If you fellas are serious, we can make it happen. Here is the spot where I caught 44 in two hours.
I ignored it. I'm only interested in fishing with people I like. No offense.Did you read my pm?
None taken. I get a lot of that.I ignored it. I'm only interested in fishing with people I like. No offense.
Throw a 12-14' live, wild river shiner in there. You'll see how big they are in that lake within about 60 secondsWent fishing this past Sunday at the spot. Caught 26. Most of them were of the smaller variety, but 3 or 4 were two to three pounds. I had a 3 pounder that jumped, shook his head, and threw the bait. Annoying.
However, the lowlight of the morning was what I lost. I threw my fluke out, and I see a very large wave moving towards it. This bass grabbed it and it's back came out of the water. It was at least a 5 and may have weighed as much as 8. I set the hook, and it started taking out drag, which is how you know you've got a big one.
Then the bait popped out of it's mouth.
I shouted a bunch of words to the deserted lake that would have made a sailor blush. I was very happy my mother wasn't around.
Will try and land him again this Sunday.
Using live bait is an experiment I should try out there one of these days.Throw a 12-14' live, wild river shiner in there. You'll see how big they are in that lake within about 60 seconds
