If Williams plays 2017 the way he played 2016, he should be a 4 star. I like the fact he's very athletic, yet is a QB first. I get the impression that the reason he isn't a 4 star like Milton is purely physical ability. He doesn't have a huge arm. It is more than good enough though for this level.

A huge arm doesn't matter, really, at all. It's nice but it's irrelevent if you don't make the right choices with respect to reading the defense and are accurate. A quick arm is important too but not a deal-breaker. Big arm is basically last on the list of important traits.

Gators offer 2019 QB

http://florida.247sports.com/Bolt/Gators-offer-2019-quarterback--52687792

Pinson (AL.) Pinson Valley four-star quarterback Bo Nix, a class of 2019 prospect, landed a scholarship offer from the University of Florida on Tuesday. Nix is the second quarterback for the 2019 class to be offered by the Gators, joining fellow four-star Roschon Johnson.

The Gators join the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Ohio State, and many others on the 6-foot-1, 194-pounders offer sheet.

The 247Sports Crystal Ball currently points towards the Auburn Tigers at 100% with all ten predictions. This should come as no surprise as Nix is the son of former Auburn quarterback Patrick Nix, who played there in the 90's.

From what I've learned it seems we have a good shot at Williams or Fields. Both would be great gets.

With Fields? Says who? Linky please...he's a very hard commit to Pedo State.

I'm not sure he's that solid of a commit to them anymore, but I'd still be surprised if we ripped him away from them.
He would be a huge get though.

DT Briggs talks UF offer
Talented sunshine state defender adds offer from the Florida Gators

http://florida.247sports.com/Article/Florida-Gators-offer-talented-DT--52650013

(there's a good video of this kid in the link)

With defensive tackles a bit of a scarcity in-state for the 2018 class, the Florida Gators coaching staff has used the spring evaluation period to add several new targets to their recruiting board. This past week the latest prospect at this position offered by the Gators was Kissimmee (Fla.) Gateway defensive tackle Dennis Briggs.

According to the three-star defender, the offer from UF came after a visit to his high school from area recruiter Brad Davis.

“Coach Davis was by my school last week on Thursday and my coach told me he hung out for a while just asking questions about me just trying to get to know more about me since he is new. My coach shot me a text message the other day [Thursday] telling me Coach Davis got in touch and that Florida wanted to offer me. I talked with Coach Davis after and he was excited to tell me.”

Before the offer from Coach Davis, Briggs has kept in touch mostly with Gators defensive coordinator Randy Shannon. Over the last handful of months, Briggs feels his communication with the Gators has picked up.

“Right now Coach Shannon has been talking back and forth with me for a few months and Coach Davis has been pretty new to me since he just was hired and was by my school recently. I feel like that relationship is growing and I am talking with them pretty constantly.”

In the past, the 6-foot-4, 252-pounder has visited Florida for a camp and a game. Living only a few hours from The Swamp, Briggs is already very familiar with Florida’s program and campus.

“I know they are a great program athletically and academically,” said Briggs. “I feel they have always have been athletically with all the SEC championships they have won and the last two years under Coach Mac has gotten them the East title. They are another option for me to stay in-state so that is great.”

So far this spring Briggs has visited Miami’s campus twice as well as Florida State. A visit to Florida was in play as well, but did not materialize. With offer now in hand, Briggs plans to be back in Gainesville once spring football concludes.

“Definitely in the summer I will get up there and check it out again,” said Briggs. “I have been there for a camp and a game before in the past. They showed me the facilities and stuff the last time I was there so I look forward to seeing their whole campus in general.”

On the recruiting front, Briggs is staying away from naming any out right leader, but many feel Florida State and Miami have the edge. If you ask Briggs he says he talks the most with programs like Duke, Florida, Florida State, Miami, N.C. State, Oregon, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

In the coming months, he plans to make a more manageable list of leaders.

“Right now my plan is sometime like early July or the middle of July to put out a top 10 or something like that. Then I will continue to narrow things down until signing day.”

The 247Sports Composite, an industry generate average, currently ranks Briggs as the No. 51 defensive tackle in the 2018 class.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he just reaffirmed he's all Penn State recently. I would be very very surprised if he flips to anyone. It would be a huge get...How many top 100 players has Mac actually closed? Six? If that.

Anything is possible.

I saw that. He looks a lot bigger in the video, and honestly, he still has an entire year in HS. If he comes to UF as a 280+lb freshman I'm fine w that. A lot of 300+lb HS kids are out of shape, fat asses. This kid looks athletic and would play SSDE right now, but at his height could easily put on 50lbs over 2 years....

Saying he is "100% committed" but follows up with not shying away from alternative options doesn't sound 100% committed to me.
Again though, I'd be surprised if we he went anywhere else, but I don't think he's actually 100% committed in reality.

http://fanbuzz.com/story/five-star-...options-open-despite-high-profile-commitment/
“My dad always says, ‘keep your options open,’ so that’s what I’m doing,” Fields said. “He’s kind of like my recruiting coordinator so I’m going to listen to him. He’s wiser than I am. I’m just going to keep my options open [even though] I’m committed to Penn State.”

Fields and his mom were in Happy Valley this past weekend, but he says he has been in heavy contact with the hometown Georgia Bulldogs as well as Florida and Florida State who have recently offered him. Fields is also a baseball prospect so that may play a role in his recruitment as well.

Stop trying to speak it into existence, it ain't happening
I can speak that they are going to fire Butters after an embarrassing September, but it isn't going to change the inevitable.
