So I didn't see this question specifically but if it has been answered sorry just point me in the right direction.

We're seriously considering cutting the cable and I waited until now so it was after football & bball season. Any of you who have already cut it where do you watch games that aren't on CBS, what's the best option. Also, I have 2 young kids so I rarely get to watch the games live and usually dvr them and watch / pause an hour or two behind everyone. Are there any good dvr options if you cut the cable?

I watch on Playstation Vue, outside of CBS. It has a 28 day limit DVR with cloud based memory. I do not know about the others. Slingbox has a DVR service for $5 extra (but don't know the details).

CBS, NBC, and ABC have reached deals with their affiliates to allow negotiations for access for digital platforms like Playstation Vue, Sling TV, etc... Playstation Vue and CBS just finished a deal with Playstation Vue where affiliates are slowly moving on.

So is this potential for the local affiliates for those stations to start being live all over instead of just in those major cities?
That would make it a lot more enticing

Yes, as of the end of March, over 50% of the Vue users local affiliates (for CBS) have been made available for Vue Customers.

I don't think Tampa yet. I still have to pay for the CBS app.

I cut the DirecTV cord for Vue (Core Slim package) after 14 years and here are my observations/complaints on PlayStation Vue:

1. I have two PS4s and you can only use Vue on one of them at any given time. You can have 1 PS4 and 1 PS3 with one Vue(PSN) account, but not two PS4s or 2 PS3s. Hopefully, Sony will fix this to allow for multiple PS4s (or PS3s) to be logged into PSN at one time.
2. Roku Premiere box DOES NOT have a grid guide in the Vue app, just a bunch of large icons that you have to scroll through. I returned mine to Sam's Club and am waiting for Amazon Fire TV boxes to finally be released. Amazon keeps pushing the date up, so who knows when you'll finally be able to get one. After researching the Amazon boxes and sticks, it appears that their Vue app does have a grid guide like the PS4 app has.
3. I'm disappointed that Vue does not have the Viacom channels, specifically A&E. "The First 48" is my absolute favorite show on TV. sling has the Viacom channels but does not have a PS app. Hulu Live is supposed to have the A&E channels whenever it finally launches, so I may be switching from Vue when that happens.
4. I'm saving ~$114 month and I'm not locked into a contract.
5. Video quality is just a hair below DirecTV's.
6. I like the cloud DVR but would rather not have the 28 day save limit.
7. I could do without all the B10 channels.

Overall, Vue is decent.

*EDIT: Hulu Live is available right now, just not for PS4.
**EDIR: While doing some more snooping on Hulu Live TV site, it appears that it is available for PS4. I will check when I get home tonight.

keep an eye on Youtube TV as well.
Gren and I were talking about it the other day. It's perhaps not fully ready for prime time yet, but when it is, it could be one of the better options.

1. The problem is with the PS aounts, the same main account can't be on two PS machines, they need to fix that overall, because that is what Vue is attached to.

2. Roku interface is garbage, try Amazon

3. Viacom is pulling it's services from all live streaming services, their CEO is against the "low cost" services as he said in their last quarterly meeting. Once the contracts are up for the other services, he is cutting those as well. He prefers the traditional model.

4. that's great

5. I think it depends on the channel for me (comparision for me was Bright House/Streaming)

6. Agree on the 28 day limit, but got used to it

7. Agree, a bunch of garbage

YouTube has google's backing, so it might be pretty damn good.

CBS has been removed from dish for weeks now. I thought it would be back by football season. I attend home games and Fla-Ga but anticipate not seeing the LSU game. After paying $160.00 a month for years, that will be the last straw with this money hungry company.

Pretty sure you mean Direct, not Dish
