was in TN for the weekend firing my first rounds thru the Shield 9. shoots good, but I need more range time with it. :)

Mrs. Trux had a Walther P22 - .22 LR pistol. she said that she's been looking for a larger caliber to carry and the shop had a
used Kel Tec PF-9 there. we worked out a deal and traded straight up.

I shoot the Kel Tec more accurately on the first pull, but it has a substantial "kick" compared to my Shield. I don't miss by much with the Shield, but I'm deadly accurate with the first on the pf-9. The second for each is another story. I'm real close on the Shield, but not so much on the other.

This has to be one of the smallest 9mm pistols on the market and overall it's smaller that the P22 & my Shield.

I'm really looking forward to putting more rounds thru both.

Maybe, maybe not.

Poor training or poor grip form (not strength) is a common cause also. Frankly, I didn't realize I had issues until an instructor corrected me to hold a much firmer grip with my offhand and to lock that wrist. Thumbs forward grip is also excellent for rapid followup shots.

I think Detroit is my Daddy.

If not, he should have been my team daddy.

I've invested in a couple of holsters so far. picked up a Crossbreed Super Tuck for IWB concealment,

and also a BlackHawk Serpa CQC with the locking mechanism.

I really like both, but typically wear the Crossbreed for better concealment. The Blackhawk is nice because there's not enough room for it in some of the pants/shorts that I have. I've also noticed that I need to wear a larger shirt to better conceal the grip.

I'd like to hear more about what holster y'all wear also.

Sadly, I find holster reviews/recommendations the hardest because I think they are so dependent on individual body types/builds... for me, it's like shopping online for clothes... I'd LOVE to be able to do it straight up, but I HAVE to be able to try it on before I know. Thank God internet returns are so simple these days! ;)

Go to the 5:00 mark for the thumbs! I'm picking mine up at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning, then need to go "polish the trigger" with 300 rounds... It honestly requires that before it settles in and CZ should be more clear about it (they told me at the factory)... and I owe G2 a review. Oh, and CZ actually put a nice little checkered square on the frame above the trigger guard for indexing the thumb!

;) But honestly, if you don't drill like that, you really aren't in the game. Think of it like watching TV while on the treadmill... same thing. Drawing and dry firing on the TV is good stuff.

Buddy of mine (former DEA, and a Gator) says the same. Taught me to put a coin on the slide and dry fire without dropping the coin to eliminate jerkyness.

He also recommended practicing pulling it out of the concealed holster and operating the safety over and over again while watching TV.

Spontaneous purchase of a G19 with MOS. Thinking about one of those tiny red dots to help these old eyes. I also like the beavertail grip adapter. Very nice for getting high on the grip and controlling followup shots.

Kind of like this:

You know you are in the game if you are doing it with a shot timer.

Team Daddy is right. There is really no other way to get the thousands of reps taking up trigger slack and doing reactionary sight pictures other than doing them. You could do them on the range but plenty of people do it at the house. Better check it twice to make sure it's clear though.

Unless you're my old neighbor Martin Joe Sileski.....he shot the sh!t out of the Pink Panther(cartoon) when we were kids with his BB gun(he thought the mag was empty) and his mom beat his Polish a$$ from one end of the house to the other with her cane.....

Saw a FLETC license plate holder this afternoon after hunting... though of you for some reason.
Maybe something like that as a retirement gig. Who knows.

Got invited to apply for a fulltime position at a prosecutor school in Columbia SC back in the day. Didnt workout. Turns out there are lots of applicants for those jobs and some of them have connections.
