Do you think there's a minor leaguer out there having any more fun than Tim is right now?

The guy gets called up to a tougher level and starts tearing the cover off the ball. Awesome stuff.

One Hairy Tebow-hater has been notoriously quiet.
Who?

I am pleasantly surprised Tim is doing better at this higher level minor league than he was at the lower level. That doesn't really add up but I'll take it. I bet he loves playing and living in Port St. Lucie, Florida though.

It's baseball....and it's a long season. All players (good or bad) have ups and downs throughout the season. Hopefully when he cools off it's not a huge drop off and his stats stay up. I'd love to see him stay above .250 w/ a HR here and there (at his size, he should be hitting a HR every 6-8 hits). If he stays above .250 I'm guessing he gets the call the AA and if he stays over .200 there he could very well get a call up the MLB team in September (obviously for a publicity stunt, but who cares?). The Mets are out of any title run, so why not? He played w/ a lot of those guys in the spring so it wouldn't be as if he's walking in there not knowing anyone. The NY media would eat it up too.

Better coaches?

Better pitchers? It's hard to hit anything when the pitcher can't hit the plate much.

It's Florida? Everything is better in Florida?

Hitting 250 may be asking alot for Tebow but I hope he can do it. Making it's all coming back to him now. It was a decade without baseball for Tim it cannot be easy to re-learn the game.

Apparently he's currently on a 5-game hitting streak!

Tebow on a five-game hitting streak for St. Lucie Mets
Former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow is heating up in minor league baseball, riding a five-game hitting streak with a .345 batting average since his promotion.

Don't look now, but former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow is off to the races after being promoted to the St. Lucie Mets, the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets.

Now 10 games into his promotion, Tebow is rocking a .345 batting average and is currently on a five-game hitting streak.

With six RBI in his last four games, Tebow has done just about everything the Mets could have hoped for.

He also has two home runs and a slugging percentage of .621. Those numbers put him among the most productive players on the team. He has the highest batting average of any player with at least 25 at-bats on the Mets' roster.

It's still early, but the venue change for Tebow seems to be doing him well. He was previously hitting just .220 in 64 games with the Columbia Fireflies prior to his promotion.

8 game hitting streak!!

Tim Tebow has an 8-game hitting streak going for St. Lucie

http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb...reak-going-for-st-lucie/ar-BBE7rv9?li=BBnb7Kz

PORT ST. LUCIE, Florida — An attendance record. A hitting streak. And such as it was, even a winning streak.

By any measure, Tim Tebow had a solid week.

Tebow's promotion to the high-A St. Lucie Mets of the Florida State League seems to be agreeing with him. The Heisman Trophy winner and former NFL quarterback had hits in 11 of his 13 games since being promoted to St. Lucie, including each of his last eight games — exactly one hit in each. Before now, his previous long hitting streak was five games.

The Mets even won back-to-back games for the first time since he joined the club. St. Lucie was 2-8 in Tebow's first 10 games, before winning on Friday and Saturday. The Mets lost in Jupiter on Sunday.

A look how Tebow has fared this week and this season:

___

HIGHLIGHTS: Tebow was clutch at the plate this week, with a two-out, three-run double against Fort Myers on Monday, a home run (part of a back-to-back) to help the Mets beat Charlotte on Wednesday, and he had an RBI double and eventually scored in the Mets' three-run fourth inning that carried them to a 3-2 win over Jupiter on Saturday.

AT THE PLATE: Tebow batted 7 for 26 (.269) this week with a home run, seven RBIs, three runs scored, three walks and three strikeouts.

ON THE SEASON: Counting his time in Columbia, Tebow is 60 for 254 (.236) with five home runs, 32 RBIs, 30 walks and 75 strikeouts.

IN THE FIELD: Tebow had an error that helped lead to a run in St. Lucie's 7-6 loss to Charlotte on Tuesday, when Jake Cronenworth doubled and took third after the miscue. Cronenworth would later score. For the season, Tebow is up to eight errors (the first seven of those in Columbia).

ATTENDANCE: Granted, the numbers were helped by July Fourth fireworks. But Fort Myers set a franchise record by drawing 9,478 fans on July 3 (up from 8,222 for the same night in 2016), and St. Lucie's home crowd of 6,974 one night later was the second-largest in team history. For the week, about 27,000 fans showed up — in large part to see Tebow play.

SHARING SPOTLIGHT: Tebow wasn't the biggest name in the St. Lucie clubhouse this week. The Mets had All-Star Michael Conforto there for a one-game rehab stint on Wednesday; Conforto went 3 for 4 before rejoining the big club in St. Louis.

QUOTABLE: Jupiter manager Kevin Randel says he can see improvement in Tebow's game, just from when he saw him in spring training to now. "I don't think anything he does is a surprise," Randel told The Palm Beach Post. "He's a superior athlete. He was off the game for so long, so it's not a surprise that it's coming along."

WHAT'S NEXT: Tebow and the Mets finish their four-game series at Jupiter on Monday night. A league-wide off day follows on Tuesday — the day of the Major League Baseball All-Star Game in Miami. The Mets begin a three-game set at home against Daytona on Wednesday and then return to Fort Myers to open a three-game series on Saturday.

Just hearing of Tim's success in a pro-sport that critics said he was/would-be a flop in makes me feel good. Tim's a "feel-good" person for so many besides us Gators. The man has true fans. Attendance is way up -- so Tim's benefitting his teammates in the two biggest ways; that also makes Tim joyous = helping and inspiring others. If he maintains a .300 with lots of extra-base whistlers, imagine the blessing to Tim in becoming a somewhat "star-athlete" again. I hope this means his improvement is due to his "feel-for-the-game" (like riding a bike) coming back to him.
"Joviality for me. Joviality for Tim. He's a Gator, I'm a Gator, 3 potato four."

Jay, you deserve extra-likes for inserting those stat-lines into this thread. It brought back memories of when I used to read & reread the "backs" of my "bubble-gum baseball cards" -- you know (or too young to know) my Brooklyn Dodgers = Campanella, Hodges, "the Duke", Koufax, Reese, etc ... too young to remember, hell I'm too old to remember.
ThanksJay26.
