Lego batman - that was a fun little movie. 7/10
My son's new favorite - saw it in the theater when it came out, and now a few times on the TV since it's been out.
I think I like the original LEGO movie better, but Lego Batman is pretty good.

Baby Driver. Great cast, amazing soundtrack, and some of the best stunt driving maybe ever. No boobs for Joe Bob.

Trying to get the wife to see this. Haven't seen a bad review yet for it or the new Spider-Man
I was indifferent going in, knew nothing about it other than Sas said it was getting amazing reviews. Apparently I had seen a preview but didn't remember. Anyway, was a really good movie and I don't give a shiit about cars, fast cars, car stunts, etc.

John wick 2 - was a little late to the party on the first one and thought it was descent. The second one picks up not long after. He gets double crossed, they try to kill him, and he goes back to work. The whole movie almost is him fighting and killing in one long night. It's a descent action flick and sets up another sequel. No boobs I remember and the dog lives this time. 6.5/10

Despicable Me 3 - Meh. Very light on the minions. There wasn't much laughter in the theater without them. I'm sure a lot of kids were disappointed(including moi). The first two were entertaining for both adults and kids. This one...too much Steve Carrell and Trey not enough of the stupid yellow guys. At least the popcorn was good.

Before We Go (2014) <Netflix>

Wife demanded the chance to pick the movie tonight. So, that's the starting point, she wanted romance, not necessarily a comedy (my preference of our two options when she picks). Film focuses on two random adults who cross paths in NYC one night. The female has run away from a cheating husband but misses her train back to Boston when she changes her mind. Her purse is stolen, so she is without ID or money in a strange city. Upon getting kicked out of Grand Central, she meets a man struggling with his own demons and ghosts of decisions made, which coincidentally have a decision point for him in his life this night as well (he is in NYC for the night as well, not a local but seems to know his way around). The whole film is about the two of them filling the hours until she can catch the next train back to her husband. These hours find the two of them learning about each other, and in the process learning about themselves. Of course, there is the bonding and the question of if they will kiss (spoiler - yes at the end) and if they will end up together (spoiler - no, and the women don't seem to like that ending). No boobs, and I can only give partial cleavage a 2/10. For the actors, dialogue, settings, etc...I'll give the overall movie a 5/10. Watchable on quality, but not enjoyment. Only agree to date night flick if you get acknowledgement that you are taking it for the team and cannot be held responsible for the ending.

Spoiler alert next time... that's an important plot point in these movies

Life (2017) - Basically ISS gets a sample back from Mars... finds life...$hit goes bad. I like SciFi and wife loves horror so this was a happy medium. It started off I expected to be isappointed, but ended up being pretty good. The end got predictable (but it's a horror movie, so goes with the territory). I give it a 7/10.

TittMatrix for Jim Bob: there are no boobs shown or harmed in this movie.

The space between us - starts out promising and has Gary oldman. They set out to colonize mars. The lead astronaut is a female and once they are to far to turn back they find out she's pregnant. They hide it from the public and she gives birth on mars, but dies during childbirth. The next 16 years the child is raised in mars by 14 scientists with one woman acting more as a surrogate for him. He starts getting curious about earth and has a girl he's a pin pale with. He is able to convince them to take them home. Once there they find out is body isn't fit and they want to send him back. He escapes to look for the girl and who he thinks his father is while they race to get him before his body fails. This is where it turns a little to much into a teen movie. It also has a twist that you see coming a mile away. 5/10. No boobs.

Sausage Party (2017) <Netflix>

So, what everybody thought was a great new 'adult' comedy, was... not a date movie. I got to pick the movie for date night, and we only made it half way through about a week ago. She wasn't digging it, and I was struggling, but I will make it through anything once. Tonight I finished it, so here's my take. If you look below the surface, you can find a message about religion versus blind faith. However, it is not so subtly hidden behind a flood of filthy language, a LOT of overt sexual innuendo, and a villain that is aptly chosen but reaches a point of being obnoxious well before the end. Even as a teen, a twenty-something, or whatever...I believe you will find the sophomoric tone funny for 15min, then it becomes overbearing. I'm no prude by any means, but the language was full of cusswords simply to see how many they could fit in the movie. Enough so, that it overtook the tone of the movie and became bothersome.

I suppose you could tell by the tone so far, I was not impressed. And, I likely get no points for sparing my wife the second half. Would I recommend the film? Only for a night by yourself - no date, no friends, maybe some pot if that's your thing or some beers. However, I strongly believe you can enjoy your evening better with the pot or beer (or both) without this film. I appreciate the effort, and the cast, but ultimately can only offer 4/10.

Saw new Transformers flic on the big screen. Lotsa continuos action. The wife is a big fan of the ongoing saga. Me? I'm of the Spiro Agnew school of opinion...you've seen one Transformers, you've seen them all.

I took 3 girls (2 were ten and the other was 13) and a 13 year old boy to see WonderWoman on Tuesday. They loved it. I thought it was pretty good. She was stunning in some scenes. The ability to make anything look real with tech now has completely changed movies. The day the make a real Tarzan Movie (that follows the actual book) will be my best movie day.

Boss Baby <Cheap Theater>

The wife took our son to an MLB game as some neighborhood moms wanted mon-son date day. So, that left me with my 11 yr old daughter for daddy-daughter date day. We were supposed to play 9 holes in the afternoon (she wants to drive the cart), but I hurt something playing soccer with her during the day so I said "Lets do like mom and dad do, dinner and a movie!" She picked Boss Baby because her brother is seeing it this weekend with his uncle and she didn't want to miss it. So...we go...to one of the cheapest theater's around where they show movies on their way out of theaters. There was about 12-15 of us in the room, all parent-kid combinations.

But, to the movie - it was pretty well made, I have to admit. There were some pretty funny moments (for kids and adults), and some heart string moments, and they absolutely set up of a sequel. Tbh, I expect the sequel to not fall to far from the original (we always hope that). But this one, stands well on it's own for adults and kids. You could use this for an adult date night move, but it is best watched with kids, so you can get their reaction to some of the content. Nothing too outlandish here, nothing that would push for a PG-13 rating, IMO (even the references to 'where babies come from' does nothing revealing you'd have to explain later but does provide a good laugh or two). All in all, excellent choice. I'd give it a 7-8/10 and definitely recommend it.

Spider-Man Homecoming: Saw it Saturday night. Loads of fun - apparent and welcome shaping from the Avengers team. Funny, great action, Keaton finally gets nuts. Loved it.

Split - this is the one with the new proffeser x where he has multiple personalities. Mostly would consider this a thriller with about 10 minutes of horror. Basically he kidnaps three teenagers and it's about them trying to escape as they meet the different personalities. The other part is his interaction with his doctor who suspects his darker personality has taken over and she tries to figure out what's going on before a the worst one of all emerges. No boobs are harmed. Has a cameo at the end from another of the directors movies to setup a sequel. I have a feeling this will be one you either love or hate. 6.5/10

We saw The Big Sick today, it was a very heartfelt and funny movie, like most Judd Apatow productions. Pakistani stand up comic falls for a girl, girl gets sick and is in a coma, then the rest of the movie happens. Enjoyed it very much, but Joe Bob would be sad to learn that despite the R rating, there were no boobs to be seen.

You lost 99% of this board when you said Pakistani.
