82 Miami game that James Jones caught that miracle, back-peddling, one-handed touchdown.
84 Cocktail Party. 27-0 Gators. Goal line stand and the bomb to Nattiel. We were due!
94 SECG. 24-23 Gators in the Dome over Bama.
95 UT. Blew those m'fers out 62-37 after 7 straight TDs. Peyton NEVER beat the Gators!
97 FSU in the Swamp. Loudest game I've ever been to. Spoiled their NC hopes.
08 SECG. Tebow brought us back with pin-point accuracy on 3rd downs. Bama couldn't believe it.

Worst game I can recall has to be "Run, Lindsey, Run!" Fck those fcking leg humping SOBs!

That's an amazing array of games you've seen, just about all the great ones of the modern era. The 27-0 win over Georgia was the peak of the '84 season and it cemented our status as a bonafide great team. What a waste that we couldn't have put it on display in a bowl game.

1. 2008 SECC game, Tebow takes over in the 4th, with no Harvin.

2. 1996 SECC game, watching Texas take out Nebraska at The Varsity in Atlanta that afternoon added to the buzz, Danny crucified Bammer.

3. 2006 SECC game, Harvin up the middle, and Wondy with the fumble recovery.

4. 2007 UF @ USC - Tebow seals the Heisman with an epic game

5. 1990 Auburn @ UF - Beating the absolute dog **** out of Pat Dye, a statement game for SOS that UF wasn't the whipping boy anymore.

Honorable Mentions - 1992 Gator Bowl - fun in the fog in Jacksonville
2001 UF @ USC - hype galore for Holtz, record crowd, UF stomped them 54-17, scored on all 9 offensive possessions
1995 SECC game - watching the play Ben Hanks went 99 yards on was a thing of beauty

Pops took me to my first game when I was 4. I think it was against Rice, but I'm not sure.He started buying season tickets a few years later and we had them for 30 years. So many great memories, as our family had a block of about 10 tickets. Grandma, aunts, uncles, cousins, mom, dad, friends, etc.. The Pell years made us start believing, but SOS spoiled us rotten!

Great thread.

If we talking football it was the 2008 game vs LSU (was in Gainesville from 2003-2012). It was a night game and the atmosphere was electric. The fans were pumped up and we kicked their corndog butts.

If we talking basketball it was the 2007 championship game in Atlanta. I got teary eyed.
That LSU games was nuts. That's the best live game I've ever seen.

So many to name but 97 FSU is always near the top. 08 OU game also there for obvious reasons.

The three national championship wins were fantastic but almost anticlimactic in that we pretty much dominated from the opening kick, maybe not as much against Oklahoma but still a convincing win.

I think for pure drama it's hard to beat the 1997 FSU-Florida game with that bomb from Johnson to Quezzie and then whoever it was (Taylor?) who punched it in. I've never been more freaked out by an ending. That would have been a great game to attend.

Took my wife to both Tebow vs. FSU games in the Swamp - the clowns scored one TD in 95, then nothing but FGs in 97.
Those were her first two Gator games.

Did you mean '07 and '09?

Pretty sure that's what you meant. Great games. Love Senior Day.

Alex.

I left off the 1989 homecoming game against New Mexico. We won 27-21, but Emmitt became UF's all-time leading rusher in that game, and ran for 316 yards that day.

Freshman year 1982. My dad comes up for the much-hyped and much anticipated Miami game, but sans ticket. We figured we'd get one outside of the stadium. But after all kinds of hustling, begging, and running back-and-forth in the parking lots, no ticket was still to be found at kick-off time. It was literally impossible to get in.

My dad tells me to go ahead on in and I give him my section number - yes, right at the glorious and historic end line at the north east corner of the stadium (the "This is...THE SWAMP" wall now) - in case a miracle happens and he somehow gets a ticket. Seven minutes into the first quarter, I'm sitting there with my buddies, pretty dejected that my father came all the way from Palm Beach County and ended up not getting in, when all of a sudden we see the visage of my dad trudging up the stairs toward us. We squeeze him in, and witness an absolutely epic game with an amazing finish. With time running out in the fourth quarter and against a furious rush of Hurricane defenders Wayne Peace throws a desperate, high-arching pass to James Jones, who catches it one-handed on a stumbling back-peddle as he slides across the old astro-turf into the end zone directly in front of our seats.

How did my father get in? Well dad - being dad - recognized an opportunity when he saw it and seized it. He saw an ice truck driving in and jumped on the back with a bunch of workers in uniforms. He must've looked completely out of place with his sans-a-belt slacks and golf shirt. A cop pointed to him, he pointed to the guy next to him, the guy next to him pointed to his supervisor, and the rest, as they say, is history, or a very special memory for me. By the time the supervisor realized what was happening the truck had already gotten far enough into the stadium and my dad had hopped off and sprinted toward the stands.

Scroll to about 1:09. Couldn't believe my wife called the TD. She said, Tebow gonna throw it to Harvin for a TD.

and 10:23..the famous Spikes punt.

no specific order...

'09 UT
- (Lame Kitten coaching) - the game sucked: it was so hot, Tebow fumbled right in front of us going into the south end zone (that would have opened the score up), ut won their first moral victory, etc...
Obviously, this game is not on the list because of the game, but because it was the last game I attended with my dad. He passed away the following year in March of a massive heart attack.

'15 Ole Miss - drove down with a friend from here in bama thinking we might lose, BUT... great atmosphere that night in the swamp...

'92 SEC Championship - I added this because UF was dubbed the home team for the First Ever Conference Championship game - the one that started it all. - I was in college & selling those score cards that you can buy after the game. It was actually the first game that I sold them at (side note - was able to go to the fog bowl - Gator vs. NC State, hall of fame bowl - is that what they called it in Tampa back then - and the Orange Bowl that year too selling those things that year too) - made $172 in about an hour that night (cause bama won).
We waited until right after kick off and picked up some tickets that a scalper was trying to get rid of for $1 each. None of the tickets were close to each other, but we didn't care. We walked in and found a spot open about 10-15 rows up on the 50 yard line and watched almost the rest of the game (had to go out in the 4th quarter to set up for the ending) - great time and other than free tickets, the cheapest I've ever seen a game.
This is the only Championship game I've been to. I had tickets to the '09 game, but I sold them on ebay and paid entirely for Christmas that year with what I made profit.
