It's almost sad to see their hopes for Gruden dwindle. The collective hearts of the buttplungers breaking!

If Mullen can recruit there, he just may achieve some success to match the UT hype. I don't think he can sustain long term success, but a 3-5 yr run is doable....if they can recruit

As always, I think a lot of it will depend on timing, especially when it comes to his recruiting. If Smart has any measure of success at uga, he will hold down much of that state, which hurts them. And despite being an absolute imbecile, WM will pull his share away from that area as well, and is likely going to be at Usce for the foreseeable future, given their humbling swing-n-miss campaign the last coaching search. That leaves us as the wildcard. If Mac has a big year, and things actually get moving, we could start to see that reflect on the trail. If not, it will be his undoing and he will be gone sooner or later. In any event, while I do agree that he could have some success there, I think that "If" you mentioned is not likely based on his history. He's not a very good recruiter, will have the deck stacked against him, and will be taking over a program whose shine is clearly off.

It would be funny, however, to see them go from Majors and Fulmer...to Kiffin, Dooley, Jones and Mullen. I'm livid at our potentially having back to back bad hires. Can't even imagine having to stomach those 4 straight.

With the high opinion they hold of themselves they probably think they have a shot at Belichick or Saban.

Don't know why mullet would want to go to Knoxville. He has a pretty good gig in Starkville and not nearly as much pressure. But football coaches are a strange breed (did I say that?) and you never know what they will do.

Money and a better shot at a title (be it division or conference). I don't know what Mullen makes at Missy State but my guess is TN could pay a lot more. Getting out of the West while the East is still weak would be another advantage IMO.

He can't recruit, and his offense attracts running QBs and nothing else.

I think he'd be perfect. I need to create a sham voles account and start pimping this.
