It's smart...no doubt those prices cover the actual bulk costs many times over...they'll sell a boat load just because they aren't gouging.

That's pretty smart on their part. Pretty good for the fans too.

Augusta National has very low prices for concessions.

For live sports, a packed stadium makes for better television. Sad that as the TV revenue has increased most have continued to jack up the price of everything. Given the attendance issues noted in recent years, this is wise.

BUT they'd better be alert to the idiots who arrive wasted or get wasted during the game. That's why I won't go to NFL games anymore even when offered free tickets - too many drunks & fights.

you would have absolutely despised the XFL then
They literally would sell out of beer at every single game, and at times the stands looked more like WWE Royal Rumble than football spectators...good times man, good times

I love a great party and a good buzz. But I've been to too many Bucs games in GREAT seats and there's always some idiot (or several) for whom beer ignites a great passion to irritate everyone in the area or pick fights for no damn reason.

Minor League hockey. Went to a game in Baltimore. The entertainment was the fights in the stands. The game on the ice was secondary.

They sold PSLs, so this was something they thought would be a clever way of offsetting that expense in the fans eyes.

I am no prude by any means and enjoy a cold one just like anyone else, but I don't go to games to drink and definitely not to get drunk. Obnoxious behavior of drunken fans is one reason I stopped going to pro games. I know concession revenue is important but I hope the colleges don't let alcohol sales ruin the fan experience. That aside, M-B Stadium is really going to be something.

This is excellent. All NFL teams should follow the Falcons' example and lower their prices. Concessions at sporting events have gotten WAY out of hand. Teams are doing a tremendous disservice to fans simply because they know we're at their mercy.

There is no reason that anyone should have to pay two, three, sometimes even four times the amount they would normally pay for a hot dog and a beer under any circumstances. This kind of stance makes me proud to be a Falcons' fan.

Now, if they could just provide a complimentary counseling service for anybody that is experiencing PTSD after the most inexplicable collapse in Super Bowl history, that would be amazing. I'd like to have that game completely erased from my memory. :eek3:

Someone out there is inevitably going to see these prices as a way to further their agenda and claim that the Falcons are encouraging obesity and alcoholism by making hot dogs, cokes and beer affordable.

Aaaaand here is the rub... At $5000 per seat PSL, plus triple the ticket price, lowering concessions does little to make the experience "affordable."
