Honesty, if this offensive guru does not show us something this season (his 3rd) I think everyone should mail J. Foley a box of kaka.

Apparently Callaway doesn't like practice either, so maybe Mac is catering to the players .

I don't know what's so hard to understand. The NCAA has banned two a days where both are full practices in pads. Mac and others have elected to make one a full pad practice and the other a skeleton practice.
The other option is to only practice once each of those days and have full practices starting a week earlier. I don't see any advantage to the practice in pads a week earlier as opposed to using those practice times to focus on the up coming opponent.
You guys get bent out of shape on the most trivial of issues.

Rather impressive. If he has his head on straight and a solid work ethic, he can have a huge season.

The is the first season he has actually had a Spring practice... hopefully he is spending a lot of time with Zaire working on timing. I really hope Cleveland and Callaway have huge seasons... this is the best WR corp we have had in a very very long time.

If Mac does it... they will complain about it.

Some of you guys (especially Swamp Donkey) would be the same people calling Mac out if one of our players went down with a season ending injury (knock on wood) in one of the extra practices.
Exactly. Too risky. Cancel all practices. Doesnt seem to help anyway.

Getting rid of two a days IS actually meant to decrease injuries.

If Ole Butters managed to speak English and convey a thought, then he could have said "we are going to practice. It's not like we are going to avoid practicing. We're just going to be doing it without pads, doing walkthroughs to get ready for Booger Eater."

if he had said Booger Eater I actually would have given him extra credit.

Instead we get that bla blah blah and yet, you know what I mean crap.

And yet if you could score some f****** points this year I wouldn't give a s***, you know what I mean?

Seems like I remember SOS scaling back on practice and hitting,. All I know is I had a coach in HS (former UF FB from the late 50s.) had us hit all the damned time. Two a days in Aug. and even during the season we hit mon tues wed. shorts and shoulder pads on thurs but some of us still took shots. By the playoffs our legs were dead.

Why are you so angry all the time, bro? You know there are pills you can take for that nowadays. It doesn't matter how many points our offense could score a game, you would still find a way to whine about something. Don't lie. I can't imagine you actually enjoy watching Gator football based on your perpetually insufferable disposition towards anything related to the program. Your obsession with the team seems more masochistic than from a genuinely happy place.

No one is getting extra practice time. The NCAA hasn't changed the number of hours a team is allowed to practice.

The NCAA no longer allows teams to have multiple contact or conditioning sessions in a single day. The recommendation is that teams have contact in the morning followed by at least three consecutive hours of no contact or conditioning and then walk throughs in the afternoon. The team can conduct meetings, watch film, etc. during the three hour no contact period.

However, the NCAA is allowing teams to start fall practice one week earlier than usual to allow more time in which contact periods can be separated. The change in starting times does not change the NCAA limitation on the number of practice hours in the pre-season.

"The preseason may be extended by one week in the calendar year to accommodate the lost practice time from elimination of two-a-days, and to help ensure that players obtain the necessary skill set for competitive play."

Mac is not being lazy or choosing not to practice.
