My wife and I dream of having a place in the Keys and one in the mountains of NC. That would be ideal. Maybe if we hit the lotto....

On second thought, you'd love Savannah. You should pack your sh*t and head over there immediately.
The Historic District is nice. If money were no object, I'd just buy a house in there and stick to that area. Or better yet, just live on Tybee Island.

The Historic District is the ONLY thing that's nice. If you drive around the rest of the city you'll see what I'm talking about. Like I said, cool place to visit but I wouldn't reside there for anything.

Beautiful climate, ultra-favorable exchange rate (you'd be instantly rich), friendly to Americans, access to Gator Chatter. You really should exchange PMs with Blonde. She lived there several years and loved it.

I'll pass. Thanks.

We've been, hence why I'd go back.

The Middle Keys. I'm a Florida boy and some of the best fishing in the world is at your fingertips. From skinny water to big game fishing. Never need to put on anything other than a tshirt, shorts and flip-flops.
Same here. Been to Marathon on vacation a couple of times and hell yeah I wouldn't mind being there for the fishing alone. It can get a little crowded at times though. I think we'll probably end up in Vero Beach in a few years mostly for it's practicality(close to family in Orlando). But it is nice and mostly quiet there without a lot of the riff raff you get in a lot of places in Florida.

My spot would be several acres on the Florida coast (doesnt really matter where.... all Fl sections have advantages/disadvantages) that is both direct ocean front on one side and direct intracoastal on the other side. Big enough that my best friends could also build homes on it.

These do exist.... but just a tad out of my price range.

I don't have a place in mind so much as an idea of how i want to retire...just want to retire on a lake and have golf readily accessible as well. Prefer to find a place on a good sized lake with a golf cart access to the course and a view of the lake with a boat dock out back.
