Emojis should be reserved for Facebook, Internet forums, and job resumes only.

Do people actually use them in work emojis? (I apologize if that's what the article states, I'm not reading it)

That's funny.... this is a screenshot of the last texts between my wife and me.

Yeah. It's kind of like "I'm done texting". It's aggravating because they will start a texting conversation it'll go around two or three texts deep and then they'll throw up the thumbs up.

I've never thought anything about the thumbs up. We've always just used the thumbs up as a replacement for "ok" or "got it". Matter of fact.... I usually just use "k".

I use k as well. The thumb just feels condescending to me.

I've seen emojis start popping up on company emails. Usually, it's just a smiley face but I find it childish and unprofessional. One of my direct reports used one on an email she sent me and I told her we were suspending her email account until further notice while we decided her fate. Let her stew on it over the weekend before I couldn't take it anymore and laughed about it on Monday. B*tch puts a smiley face on every correspondence she sends me now.
