Remember when Mac said he wasn't going to tailor the offense to Treon's strengths because he didn't want to sacrifice the development of the other players? Well turns out Mac and Nuss probably didn't know how to tailor the offense to Treon's strengths. Signs of things to come.

I remember because I was blasted for being critical of him at the time. He was being called brilliant by many on here for it.

Some honest presentations by 'circle city gator' and by 'avatar' and yet some con-game lying by 'UFHC' prior to the game. (Mac may be a "silly-sociopath" - the only one-such I've ever heard of.)

*This is his "ready-to-go" product after 2.5 years' development. His factory foremen are overseeing the processing.
There's enough 'coaching fraud' here to match the Volkswagon gas-mileage/safety overclaims.

Our hoodwinked athletes have to have been 'fraudulently taught' and to that they 'spiritually' just could not "buy into" at all.

And we all saw it in Dallas. By this, I mean day after day, on the practice field, on the play run-throughs, CEO-Mac must be overseeing his coaches teaching O-linemen only, just only, how the play-steps work perfectly -- with no D-coach interjecting where that 'sneaky' D-opponent could adjust to mess the perfect up? The O-linemen have no ideas about "taking care of business" as it is likely to occur in reality. And that is what we get, what we see = Mac's teams O & D are not prepared for real football. Nothing seems to work, no adjustments are available because not a single player has rehearsed real CFB as it actually happens -- only rehearsed how McCrew have 'programmed' them to robotically think/act. Because that's how their ruling CEO/HC thinks CFB goes i.e. Mac picked up none of Sabin's holistic formula, none of it. (He has just been a "dead man walking" through Sabin's teachings-period.)

No P-5 University owes the responsibility of providing "HC-training wheels" to stabelize a real Program for the guy they're paying $4-5 million dollars to. The HC owes UF a real CFB Program, ASAP.

CFB as an entity needs to 'collectively' revise how contracts are written. Buyouts should start, say at $12 million with the performance-tag that the first year it's reduced by $1.5mill for every loss over 4, 2nd year $ 1mill for every loss over 3, 3rd year $1mill for every loss over 2, 4th year & beyond $250K for every loss over 2. So what if the HC buyout goes to zero, it'll be because that HC malfeasantly mismanaged your P-5 CFB Program. All the "has-to" shouldn't be all on the college.

A combination of Gainesville ramping up for home games keeping me busy and wanting to avoid thinking about that disaster in Dallas has kept me away from the boards. However, I'm not going anywhere. You guys are stuck with me.
We give you tons of crap, but we love ya buddy!

I see this much differently. Mac is completely out of ideas on how to make this team successful and realizes his days are truly numbered. This is made clear by the fact that he is blaming our oline's issues on their lack of strength. He's grasping at straws at this point and is looking for every excuse in the book besides the coaching staff, which is at the root of our teams issues.
Well he is probablyl right. They havent gotten larger and dont look stronger.

Im not sure why he hasnt notice before now though. My son's high school team has to weigh in and weigh out ever practice (though it is more for dehydration) and the track weight lifiting maxes and even reps per workout year round.

Im not even sure we have a s&c program.

Hits to the heart of the matter.
Well, it is all to the heart of the matter, right? Our recruiting is poor, our S&C is poor, our player development is poor, our game planni g is poor, our in game adjustments are poor.

Im hard pressed to find a strength of this coach and his staff or any area in which this staff is competent.

It is amazing Fooley failed this catastrophically. He has outdone himself.

Come on man, I'm off the Mac train now, but we have to be fair. The current 2018 and 2019 classes seem to be outstanding, so the most current version of our UF football staff is at least doing that well...now...

For sure. But you've got to have the horses and we got more ponies, it would seem, in Mac's previous recruiting cycles (and beyond). In the trenches, as you have noted, is where it hurts the most and seems like it's going on eight years or so where we're getting our milk money stolen on the playground. I don't mean to be insulting to our kids, but like one old coach said, you can't make chicken salad out of chicken sh!t. Until we start consistently getting a cluster of linemen that come in with adequate strength measurables and physical development, along with a good football foundation (technique, confidence, desire, etc.), we will continue to be a year or two away.

As for strength and conditioning, I hope Mac is at least considering adding it to the program.

I'm guessing 75-80 percent of the 18/19 commitments end up somewhere else.

Until their names have been signed in ink, faxed to the staff, and they have received their ncaa and university clearance to enroll, those lists don't mean squat. It's why some of us were giving attaboys to the staff a few weeks back but also saying lets not start having pool parties and victory celebrations about it either. We were clearly saying that regardless of who has given a pledge, there's a long season before signing, and if the season tanks, some of those prospects will turn elsewhere. This IS being fair. It's also being honest. Get ready...

I think Mac hurt his chances with Corrall using the quick hook on Franks on Saturday. If I'm Corrall and I look at how quickly franks got the hook after being named the starter, not being allowed to battle through adversity. I might start wonder if the same would happen to me, and if there are better opportunities.

I think he hurt his chances as soon as he showcased our offense. The same fear a lot of us had even before opening kickoff. Unless we see a dramatically different team from here on out (and lets be real, we wont), his butt is going to be fired anyway.

Very true. He "knows" what he "knows" and once someone fumbles you pull them out of the game. Once you throw your 10ish passes, you run. It just is the way you play Saban football.

Unfortunately, although it generally seemed to work great when you have Ingram, Richardson, and 12 roided up 320 beefs up front, not so much at 3 star U.

Playmakers are there for Florida
Gator Nation is still steaming from Florida’s 33-17 loss to Michigan last Saturday. Everyone and their mother — no, seriously — has chimed on offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier, his maligned offensive line and a QB mess that he still hasn’t figured out.

But one complaint has seemingly disappeared from the airwaves and social media stratosphere.

It’s more so been an excuse or explanation from the fan base for Florida’s offensive woes in the past seven years. You could see it when the receivers ran their routes and or the backs hit their holes. It was obvious when the quarterbacks — any of them — dropped back to pass.

The Gators simply had bad offensive players.

There was a drop-off in talent. The caliber of athletes we saw at Florida during its championship years were nowhere to be found in Gainesville.

Instead, they were going to Alabama, Clemson and Florida State. The Crimson Tide are still a step ahead of everybody on the recruiting trail, but the Gators are beginning to catch up to the defending national champs, their in-state rival and others.

Recent offensive recruiting
After signing just three top-300 offensive prospects in the Class of 2015, Gators coach Jim McElwain doubled that number each year that followed. He and his staff signed six top-300 overall players on the offensive side of the ball in both the 2016 and 2017 classes, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

A dozen in two years. That’s one more than Clemson, the same amount as Auburn and one less than FSU and LSU. So Florida’s offensive recruiting has recently been on the same level as other major programs, according to the rankings, and the Gators already have seven top-300 commits in their 2018 class.

Players should no longer be the problem at UF, and it’s not. The Gators have 10 offensive players on their roster who were ranked in the top 15 nationally at their positions, and that doesn’t include star wide receiver Antonio Callaway and freshman All-American Jawaan Taylor.

Starting quarterback Feleipe Franks, running Jordan Scarlett, wide receivers Tyrie Cleveland, Josh Hammond and James Robinson and offensive linemen Martez Ivey, Tyler Jordan and Brett Heggie were Under Armour or U.S. Army All-Americans as high school recruits.

Junior college transfers Mark Thompson and Dre Massey and freshman tight end Kemore Gamble were ranked No. 1, No. 5 and No. 7 at their positions, respectively.

Florida has the Jimmy’s and Joe’s. This is Nussmeier’s third year at UF and these are his players. If they don’t produce in 2017, it falls on his shoulders.

The Gators have multiple issues on the offensive side of the ball, but lack of talented playmakers isn’t one of one of them.
