So the cards are backed by Well Fargo
The bookstores are backed by Follett Inc Campus Retail Solutions
that is just at a quick glance

But only UF is being harmed by the actions of these students...

The Bank Associated to the Gator 1 card appears to be Wells Fargo.

https://www.bsd.ufl.edu/G1C/vending/open_account.asp
This is an optional.

Linking your UF Gator 1 Card
  • Getting Your Card:
Visit Gator 1 Central inside the UF Bookstore & Welcome Center, Room G071 to have your picture taken and pick up your card.
  • Once you have it, bring it to the Wells Fargo banking location on campus or any nearby Wells Fargo banking location to open an account:
    • Reitz Student Union - Ground Floor (on campus)
  • See a banker to link your card to your new or existing Wells Fargo Everyday Checking account.

This is the back of and FIU card that is similar. NOTICE THE BLUE STRIPE, and read what is says. These type of ID cards are to help promote local banks for students to have.

So to basically wrap up the investigation for the GPD/UPD in this thread, Smith, more than likely used someones Gator 1 card that was linked to a Wells Fargo account (THE BLACK TOP STRIPE), and then this person reported the charge, either falsely or not, as an unauthorized charged. And the other players used the bottom BLUE STRIPE on their gator 1 IDs at the university book store which was linked to their scholarship stipend. :exactly:

No, Smith stole someone's CREDIT CARD information and attempted to pay his rent with this info. He's being accused of both credit card fraud and grand theft. The black strip is used for withdrawing cash from Wells Fargo ATM's (pre-chip technology). Tell me how you'd swipe a Gator 1 card over the internet? This should be good.
Perhaps this persons card info was linked to their profile for the Wooldands Portal login page, that you can login via FACEBOOK, and then paid their rent with their profile with their GATOR 1 ID Wells Fargo account was linked to. Just like when I login to Stubhub with my facebook account, my paypal account is linked to that profile, which in turn is linked to one of my checking accounts. Does that explain it enough for everyone??? just making sure.

It is accurate that they are suspended from all activities. it doesn't square with the assertion that they did was nothing, does it?

It is debatable whether or not 6 tds is an essential contributor. I would argue it's a pretty minimal contributor.

I don't know, 6 TDs in this offense has got to be like 70% of the offensive TDs we'll score all year. :lmao2:

I'd quoted the same to remind Law that he has, in fact, seen this offense...for 3 years now...and 6 TDs is pretty significant for us.

I get it. But the point isnt that they are NOT (yet) proven contributors, game changers and producers. We HOPE they will develop into that but it is still just a hope.

mcphail is mcfailing badly.

How? I basically gave a logical break down of how the events could have occurred, and provided visual representation of the difference between criminal credit/debit card fraud and university ID card fraud. If anything I aided both sides of the argument.

Maybe the football players get their stipend money linked to the Wells Fargo portion of their ID card? That makes it a debit card that could be used anywhere.

That makes more sense. Wasn't Best Buy initially mentioned? Doubt they could blue stripe it there.
