Waiting for IT. Supposed to be the best adaptation of a King novel to date.

I want to see it as well, looks great. Just don't know if it's going to as good of a Pennywise as Tim Curry.

That is possible. I read some reviews from the advanced screening and apparently Skarsgard's character is pretty freaking scary. Who knows?

I have only seen the trailers, trying to stay away from other stuff. Has ruined too many movies I was excited about recently.

Wonder Woman - easily the best of the DC universe movies by far. Is it the best superhero movie? No, but its a good one and by far puts all the previous attempts of putting a female hero to shame when front and center. Basically set during WWI and she lives on the hidden island of amazons. She rescues a pilot and Germans follow him. After hearing what is going on in the outside world she sets out to stop who she thinks is behind everything and to bring peace.

The good is that it doesn't stay to long on the origin story, it moves quickly, and Gadot is perfect for the role bringing the naivety to the role of someone who doesn't know how to exist in the world we know, plus shes gorgeous. The story is good and incorporates some supernatural into real world circumstances. The cast is also good, although at times unmemorable, and Chris Pine especially shines through. It also has more color than the other DC movies and not everything is dingy and grey all the time.

The not so good is it does run a little long at two and a half hours, but not a lot I feel they could have cut out. No boobs for those wondering. Some of the effects could have been better in the final climax and a little to much slow motion in that battle. Also at times Chris Pine was a little to good at his job and you find yourself more interested in his character than Wonder Womans.

All in all its a good super hero movie, not the best, but definitely warrants the praise to be near the top of the list. I think most will enjoy this one. 7.5/10

Boss Baby <Cheap Theater>

The wife took our son to an MLB game as some neighborhood moms wanted mon-son date day. So, that left me with my 11 yr old daughter for daddy-daughter date day. We were supposed to play 9 holes in the afternoon (she wants to drive the cart), but I hurt something playing soccer with her during the day so I said "Lets do like mom and dad do, dinner and a movie!" She picked Boss Baby because her brother is seeing it this weekend with his uncle and she didn't want to miss it. So...we go...to one of the cheapest theater's around where they show movies on their way out of theaters. There was about 12-15 of us in the room, all parent-kid combinations.

But, to the movie - it was pretty well made, I have to admit. There were some pretty funny moments (for kids and adults), and some heart string moments, and they absolutely set up of a sequel. Tbh, I expect the sequel to not fall to far from the original (we always hope that). But this one, stands well on it's own for adults and kids. You could use this for an adult date night move, but it is best watched with kids, so you can get their reaction to some of the content. Nothing too outlandish here, nothing that would push for a PG-13 rating, IMO (even the references to 'where babies come from' does nothing revealing you'd have to explain later but does provide a good laugh or two). All in all, excellent choice. I'd give it a 7-8/10 and definitely recommend it.
thought this was descent, but my almost 5 year old loves it.

Shut In - Naomi Watts is a shrink that lives in a remote home in the woods and sees her patients there. She takes care of her step-son who is constantly catatonic after a wreck that killed his father, but he survived. one night a bunch of strange things start happening and she has to figure it out. Basically it is a thriller, but anyone with a brain will figure out the "who" in the first ten minutes and will just need to stick around if you want to know the "why" and "how". It sucked. 3/10

The People vs. OJ Simpson

Just finished this 10 part series on Netflix. Great work. Started out slow and the acting seemed forced, to say the least. But it really took off and turned out way better than I expected.

Didn't really follow the trial much, during the time, because I wasn't interested. Certainly answered a lot of questions and opened my eyes to what was really going on.

That Fücker was guilty as sin, can't believe he got off and now he's going to be a free man next month.

You should also check out the documentary they did. It's also about 5 parts but shows a lot of what went on and interesting things from his lawyers.

A couple tv shows

Narcos season 3 - only agent Pena and a few characters return. Really good, moves really fast as apposed to the Escobar story. This one is about taking down the Cali cartel. Couple gut punches and definitely find satisfaction in what happened to some of them. Sets up season 4 going to a new country.

Been watching the lacy Peterson documentary series on A&E. this is really interesting so far. Now he may be guilty as sin, but man he didn't get a fair shake. They had little to no evidence, all the eye witnesses said he was right, etc. goes to show the media has a lot of power with public perception. The way they reported everything it skewed the evidence to the public as guilty when there was none. They also had people lying to get on the jury just to convict him. This one may be crazier than the OJ trial.

Going in style- freeman, arkin and Caine as grumpy old men. What's not to like. They lose their pensions and decide to rob a bank. Hilarity from there and can they outsmart the FBI that's on their tail. It's a descent movie with a good cast. Has some funny moments and is worth checking out. Not sure if one you'd buy for repeated viewing but you would watch it again if on tv. No boobs and that's a good thing considering an elderly cast. 6/10

Game of Thrones S8 (2019) - HBO was hacked and the scripts were obtained ( I won't spoil it so you can keep reading ). The hackers demanded $6.5M in bitcoin but HBO refused to pay so the hackers released them. On youtube there are videos for each episode and the youtuber goes through each scene and describes what happens. If you're a fan you know that seasons 1-6 were phenomenal in terms of writing but season 7 not so much. As it turns out S7 is all setup for S8 and they have definitely saved the best for last. I really felt that S7 had suffered from not having GRRM's writing and D&D went for high production episodes over character/plot development that made the series as great as it is. However GRRM must have been heavily involved with how S8 plays out.
It's possible that the script leaks are fan fiction but if they are then D&D are going to have a hard time to make it better. It's also possible that the scripts get rewritten but that will probably be minimal. Every episode, every scene even, is incredible. I think I've read every theory out there and none of them are correct. A lot of people die of course but the how, when, why is surprising and the ending is, as GRRM has said it will be, bittersweet. But in a way you can't even guess at this time. Season 8 will be incredible. Unfortunately with the scripts out there I don't know how spoilers are not going to come out over the next year and a half. So if you're a GoT be careful what you click on.
