In context. Between the two. 2012 was a good season and that final weekend against FSU was fun. We spanked them IN tally as both were top ten teams. Sorry but that's fun to me. Nothing else was but in context comparing the two at least the Chump had a good year.

True, but overall that offense was still painful to watch, including the 2012 season.

When our ground game actually worked it was a thing of beauty. Unfortunately that FSU game was a rare occurrence of when it worked.

Also true, but that was rare. Didn't we need a blocked punt return in the final minute to beat ULL that year?

Not surprised to see these numbers. I hate it that he's not ours, but in retrospect I think he (read: Chad) made a good call by transferring to West Virginia. His numbers will be off the map and he'll likely go first round.

I greatly disagree that Mac is a Gator. Now SOS is a Gator, Mac is just a hired gun like most of the coaches we have had. They don't really care about Gators outside of their official duties.

And Grier made a massive mistake, he is not a Gator or he would have stayed no matter what the coach said.

Now it is also a team sport, without any protection nobody would be successful on offense.
Same for Sabah. If he was UF, ole miss etc. he'd still kill it and march on. He is a hired gun, I'll take one for UF please!!!!

Grier may need 2 years' worth records before going high to NFL.?? 'cept NFL teams are full of piss-poor QBs, like never before. ??

The idea was that Mac is not a Gator, a hired gun is mostly all you can get, and most of them are happy where they are. And he has many advantages at Bama that we don't, some are even legal advantages.

I'd be happy if we hired a gun who didn't come with an unloaded derringer.

So no coach can be a Gator unless they played there?

By your definition about 99% of coaches are just hired guns and can never be loyal to their team.

And the Saban has advantages we don't have theory is crap. Where were those advantages before he got there.

We used to own Bama it's not like they were broke back then.

Any advantages he's got he he built on his own. I can't stand the guy but he's the best coach in college football by a wide margin.

ps: **** Bama

First question the answer is of course yes, unless they stay for a long time and would not leave for say more money.

And yes 99% of all college coaches would take a different / better job in a minute. It is a job or career.

Those advantages were only somewhat there before he got there, he probably created some of them, but he still has them. Like very limited competition for in state talent for only one example.

Just when did we own Bama??? Somewhat during the SOS era we had success, but we did not play them enough to own them.

And yes Saban is a great coach, he works harder than almost any other coach, and having success gets great assistants and staff.

You are of course welcome to your alternative opinion.

He threw a 5th TD early in the 3rd and they pulled him out.

They will in a few months.
I was upset with Will and his dad or a while. Now I think Mac wanted him gone. If Grier does well I am okay with it. Hes not at USCe he cant hurt the Gators. Mac has to l live with Grier looking good elsewhere.

Spurrier was 6 and 3 against them including 3 SEC championship games not quite enough games played to say we owned them. But he owned them when it mattered. So I'll give you saying we owned them was a bit much.

Bama has never had any in state competition for recruits Saban has nothing to do with that.
The only real advantage he has is he coaches at a school that historically has a lot of great football tradition (so does Florida) and a school that has a lot of money (so does Florida).
Unless your going with the conspiracy theory that he cheats.

If Mac wasn't a steaming pile of dog shyt what makes you believe he would leave for a "better job". I remember a time when their was no better job unless maybe it was for the NFL and "our true gator" left us for that job.

ps: again **** Bama

Dude Butters won The East back-to-back years and won SEC coach of the year.
I really want to stop hearing this as defense of the worst HC we've ever had here. He's NOT a good HC. Winning the East is not a good accomplishment the last two years. We would've been at the bottom of the West. We're not a good football team because of coaching. No chemistry, in-fighting because of questionable play calling, perception of no control over the program...these are all huge problems that are almost insurmountable for this staff. It would be a miracle for this particular staff to turn it around. Can anybody honestly say they think McElwain will win a championship here...ever? No way in hell.
