Yeah Coach, it sounded ugh to me too...then I tasted it. I suggest you taste it before criticizing it.

I'm sure that most people know this – but when measuring with a measuring tape, don't bend the tape when trying to measure down from one corner to another. The length of the measuring "box" is etched onto the bottom of the box. Just leave the box on one corner and pull the tape all the way up to the other. Then add the two measurements together.

Do you like Reese's?

I love peanut butter and chocolate. But the ice creams tend to fall a little short for me. Not enough peanut butter taste, or the chocolate sucks. Then I tried this stuff:

It's not ice cream. It's not gelato either. It's a sorbet, or "sorbetto" as they call it. Slow down, I know, I know. I hate sorbets too. Too icy. Trust me, this is different. It's creamy. It's better than any peanut butter ice cream you ever had, and the chocolate fudge is fantastic. Maybe too sweet, just like a Reese's. It doesn't taste like sorbet but there is no dairy in it at all (in case you are lactose intolerant or have an allergy, heck, it's even vegan). If you love peanut butter and chocolate, try it.

Haven't tried the peanut butter fudge, but have had a couple of other flavors from Talenti. Good stuff and the texture is very creamy as you describe.

One other thing to add...we were without power for two days, so what we cooked was done on either the gas grill or the fish cookers. We actually made a good pot of marinara in one of the fish cookers and prepared the pasta in the other. I had made some meatballs ahead of time so we were able to use them with the sauce. Heavy aluminum pan allowed us to keep the heat just hot enough to simmer the sauce for an hour (to get rid of the can taste and let the spices work). First time we ever tried this anywhere but the kitchen and were pleasantly surprised at how good it turned out.

How do you remove garlic stench from you hands after chopping it? Run your hands under cold water for 10-15 seconds while rubbing a stainless steel spoon. You may think I'm crazy, but try it.

Works for onions as well

Tools rusty? Soak them in plain white vinegar. If the rust is beginning to dig in, you can crumple a piece of aluminum foil and rub the rust away with the foil. ( hint-don't soak power tools )

Dammit cooter! I got really excited about this and soaked my miter saw in the bath tub. Then I re-read your post and saw the hint. Well, I wanted a new miter saw anyway.

I found a pocket knife digging a ditch once. It was completely rusted.

I soaked it in Apple Cider Vinegar and I was shocked at how it recovered. Some pitting on the blades, but really cleaned up well.

I'm hoping one day it will be worth a million on Antique Road Show. :)

When a recipe calls for vanilla extract, always add more than the recipe calls for (up to twice as much).

When a recipe calls for cinnamon, consider using a little less cinnamon and adding some ground cloves or allspice (or both).

Creamy sauces love a little nutmeg. It's a common "secret ingredient" in alfredo sauces, creamed spinach, etc.

When a recipe calls for water, think about substituting something with flavor like OJ, beer, apple cider, etc.
