Power just came back on about 20 minutes ago. Have been without power for 13 hours. I dont know how in the hell this forum stayed together without me for that amount of time....I guess I have trained everyone well.
It's been rough, Dan. Brutal to be honest.

If I lived in Indian River county I'd be having an emergency for sure.

I survived the hurricane.

Cleanup may kill me.

Power been out since midnight last night. I spent most of today behind a chain saw, a rake and a tarp.

37,000 in my county lost power. Numerous trees down. Some areas in my own neighborhood had severe flooding.

And yet...

I got off scott free.

I feel pretty lucky and grateful.

Lost power last night around 2am here in Baker Co and it just came back on. I think just about our whole county lost power. Lot of fallen trees and some flooding. I got a lot of limbs to pick up, but no major damage. I'm definitely gonna make it a priority to get me a generator, could hear everyone around me seemed like they had one. Hope everyone made it through ok, stormed cause some epic flooding in Jacksonville, even saw where downtown by the landing had flooding. The cleanup that is gonna happen in South Florida will take months for sure I imagine. Hope like hell these storms stay away from Florida from now on.

Made it through safely here in Saint Pete. I'm pretty close to downtown and didn't even lose power. The wind was brutal with minimal rainfall.

Having been through Charley I was prepared for a lot worse. We really were fortunate that it went the route it did.

Rick Scott promised us we would all be dead since we didn't care enough about our families to finance the Hilton's and Marriotts. Won't be the last time he lies.

Did get to see the water sucked out of the bay. Felt like Moses for a few minutes seeing dry land where there are normally feet of water.

Miami, Naples, and the Keys got it bad!

The NNE strong wind actually blows the water out to sea....happens every winter several times at my condo in PC Beach.

Still no power since 9pm Sunday night.

Spent all day yesterday helping a neighbor who lost 3 huge oaks and the tops of 3 others. What a damn mess. Really just needed to get to her fence to mend it for her animals so like Tag.... spent all day behind my trusty chainsaw.

We jumped in the truck and did a nearby tour and I was in complete awe of the destruction. Massive flooding in areas that I have never seen a puddle. I am guessing this is because we have had damn near 40 inches of rain in the past 10 weeks and the ground was saturated. Countless huge oaks either completely ripped out of the ground or snapped in half. Road was impassible in most directions. It's amazing that some of these huge suckers are dangling from power lines. Saw many homes crushed in half by one of these huge trees and 3 homes that were sitting in about 3 feet of water. Anyway, based on what I saw.... I am thinking it will be many days without power.

I am very fortunate and humbled at how little damage I had compared to my immediate surroundings. Makes my hand tremble even typing this.

I have a big tree on top of my garage that poked thru the metal roof and two trees fell across my brand new fence. I have 2 more trees down that smashed my grape vines. I have pine branches and cones everywhere. Going to work on the garage this morning.

Mother nature is a bvtch. In all the destruction and chaos I hope all will have a nice laugh at this.

Rick Scott's epic sign language interpreter....looks like he was randomly placed in the video by a heck of a video editor or he was faking it all. I don't know if the National Sign Language Interpreter Association has an annual competition for best interpreter because it seems they keep getting more dramatic and hilarious.
