meh... I'll wait till he signs and is on campus to get excited.

Agree completely. Serious question, why on earth would he want to come play for this staff? Maybe it's just me feeding into the doom and gloom, but I don't see any chance in hell this guy sticks. I hope I'm wrong, but can you imagine how easy it is to recruit against us? Does he have some connection to UF I'm not aware of?

I think he's the only reason Mac will return next season. I'm stoked to have him though
It is not a reason to keep him. I remember keeping will Grier committed was one of the primary reasons some people thought we should bring The Chump back. how did that work out? how much additional damage did the extra year cause to our program?

Most of the people lobbying for the extra year are also the ones saying Butters can't fix the offense because of Chimp.

Five star quarterbacks are probably 50-50 on whether or not they develop. if Golden Corral is a gator then he is coming anyway. Eason and plenty of others have stuck despite a coaching switch. Frankly if Corral will commit to the Gators despite our total lack of offense and a coordinator with a known terrible trakc record, then switching to a new head coach (as long as it's not an option guy) would be nothing but an improvement and make it more likely that he sticks. (if it is an option HC then Frank's or Corral won't be playing anyway.)

Completely agree. I just don't see him staying as we play out this train wreck of a season.

I hope youre right but I could see him telling Stricklin give us one year with Corral before making you're decision. I just don't know if Stricklin will listen. My guess they are both back next year and Mac saves himself another year by firing Nuss after next season and blaming the offense on Nuss to get one more season in 2019. That's my guess as to how it goes down

Who is this Strickland you keep referring to?

Golden Corral is not playing next year. And if he is we're going to be even worse than this year. You don't even want to play a true freshman in mop-up duty. It's a waste of a year. Freshemn dont contribute til their third year 99.9% of the time.

Why is it that people say this yet elite coaches are playing true fr at Qb these days. If your an elite Qb your only gonna get 3 years from them anyway why waste a year and only get 2. If he's the best option then imo you play him day one

He's a lot thicker than Grier was when he got here. If he actually comes, he will likely be our best option next year unless Franks progresses a lot under this awesome tutelage:eek3:.

Looking back, if we had started Grier as a Frosh (I realize it was suggested that the coaches made a deal with his dad that he would get a Redshirt) he probably would never have gotten popped for peds.

Corral knocked on our door not the other way around.

If he sticks, he sticks but it is no reason to keep Dumb and Dumber an extra year.

Quite a few RS freshman QBs have played decent in recent years.

Jeebus. This is so stupid. Just because it's been repeated on the internet doesn't mean it is close to truth.

There was never A PLAN to redshirt Grier. That statement that people keep repeating was made in response to people fearing that Dipshytskel breaking his leg (and getting a redshirt) and the playing time issues that could cause might run Grier to another team.

Grier never wanted to redshirt, he arrived early and wanted to play. He was surprised and felt he played well enough to beat out Grier and Dipshyt. I suspect he probably did outplay them.

However, it doesn't really matter when the job of the QB in Chimp's offense is to handoff every first and second down and half of the third downs, does it? Playing early, and being told never to take a chance throwing the ball down field wouldn't have helped him in the slightest anyway.
