Who do you want to see get the majority of the carries on Saturday?

Since we are going to play this game, we may as well try to win. Meatchicken pretty much squashed any fantasies we had about our new wide open vertical passing game. Couple that with missing a full game and a lot of practice time, and it seems like our only realistic chance in this game is if we can get the ground game going early and often.

With JS still out we are kind of limited in the experience (and maybe talent) dept. Admittedly, the O-line was terrible, but even with that I was pretty disappointed that Perine who got the most carries never really got anything going. Still, he has the most experience and looked good at times last year and is probably 1st string with Scarlett out.

Thompson wasn't really any better, but at least he didn't fumble this game and he did have the one long scoring run, that despite our offensive ineptitude, would have had us right back in the game had it not been called back. Maybe if the line is still struggling, having our biggest back who theoretically should be able to create some holes on his own might make sense, although he has kind of a slow first step and doesn't show consistent power with first contact. But he is surprisingly fast for his size in the open field and did find the endzone which is more than you can say for any of our other offensive players.

Davis only had the one run, but it was one of the better runs of the game. I'm guessing most folks will say Davis should get most of the carries and I'm not opposed to that. But I do know it is a common trend for us to believe the guy we've seen the least is the answer if only the coaches were smart enough to put him in. I remember the same thing with Skids McLane and that Asian looking dude transfer from USC, can't remember his name. The more we got to see them the more we realized it was wishful thinking that they were better than the guys ahead of them on the depth chart.

Has it been made official that #25 and #81 are still suspended? Heard on the radio this morning that they weren't ruled out, that ex bama qb dip $hit Mcelroy believed Mac was up to one of his little tricks again by staying mum on the situation. He thought they were going to play because if not his hero Mac would have already ruled them out.

Yeah, definitely sounds like they are out. I don't understand why Robinson is still out though because I thought he had a one game suspension that he already served.

Heck I think just like last year we will actually be worse running the ball. We were dead last rushing in the SEC last season.

Perine needs 20+ carries. No reason to rotate the backs....especially when we only run <60 or so plays on offense (vs. most college offenses running over 70). Thompson should get in the game to block and/or catch a pass or two....and maybe get 1 or 2 carries. The less touches he has, the better for our offense. I don't want to see the freshman play unless Perine is ineffective. But this all goes back to the OL and the scheme.
