If you could change 1 play in UF football history what would it be?

A few singular plays come to mind. 4th and dumb. Run Lindsay run. Marquand Manuel letting an easy pick six go through his hands that would have led to a National Championship Game appearance. Darnell Dockett purposely injuring Ernest Graham which had an effect on the UT game the following week. Also if docket does not purposely injury Graham then SOS doesn't have a feud with Foley and maybe SOS doesn't leave. Missed field goal vs UT 1998. These are just a few off the top of my head.

Windy, is there some reason why you won't sign up and start these threads in the main forum? It takes minutes, you'll see fewer ads, and you'll get a lot more traffic to your posts.

How about making that missed extra point recently, or that foolish decision to throw over the middle and get an int. If we won the last two games, which we could have things would be much different.

Mark Ingram's 69 yard gain on a screen pass in the SECCG in 2009. We had just scored a TD on a beautiful drive to make it 12-10, and had all the momentum going into half. Instead, Bama scores in two plays to extend it to 19-10, and we never recovered.

Perfect season gone, Tebow’s final game (except the bowl). That’s a pretty good one there, skunk ape.

#5- Collins Cooper. I'm sure we all remember that.
#4- PK Sam. I still don't know what Guss was thinking there.
#3- Tebow stopped short on 4th and short 08 vs OM
#2- Chris leak ''fumble'' against Auburn in 06 nullifying a perfect season
#1- Wilbur drops snap then punts awkwardly getting it blocked in EZ, resulting in six for Auburn (same game as above)

The Auburn loss in 06 still pisses me off. We lost without them finding the end zone on offense.

Honorable mention

99 in the swamp vs Bama. We had I believe it was a 30 game home winning streak snapped that day.
Darrel Jackson muffs a punt with just a few minutes left in the 4th quarter. Bama recovers and ties the game.
We go to OT and score, but miss the XP. Bama then scores and misses the XP, but gets another bite at the apple
because Bennie Alexander was offsides on the missed kick. The kicker hit the next one through the uprights of course.
Two major gaffes cost us big time.

I just might take you up on that offer.....you might have a newbie to kick around...but I swear I am not Cane Thong, Ryan so and so (we are dangerously thin at WR), Alvin Dork, or the guy who kept saying that there was a kid in DC that was the real deal...etc...just trying to remember some of the tools on the old GSMB when I used to post about 10 years ago....

After much thought, I would say the Marquand Manual miss pick six..and here is why. Most, if not all, other plays though painful, would not have resulted in a possible national championship. If MM catches and dashes for a pick six, Gators get to play UT on a neutral field at a time when the Gators OWNED UT. It would have been SOS second national title. RLR, though painful, we were not going to win a MNC...SEC yes, but not MNC> Just my two cents.

Ugh...thanks for the reminder of how that all played out. I was so pissed!

Yeah, you really need to sign up WCG.

1993 FSU in the Swamp. We had all the momentum. FSU was on their own 20. All we had to do was stop them on 3rd and long, force a punt and we were going to score and win that game. At first it looks like it might be a sack, then Charlie Ward slips away and floats a pass to Warrick Dunn in the flat. There is a block in the back that springs Dunn for an 80 yard TD to win the game. No flag. FSU goes on win the MNC despite a late-season loss to Notre Dame.

If we win that game, FSU doesn't get its first MNC. We're first with 1996 making it that much sweeter. We'd have one more MNC than they do today and Ward may not win the Heisman giving us that advantage as well.

That's the thing about RLR. It may not have won us a MNC, but it would have cost UGA their MNC. Their only MNC would have been back in 1942 when the real men were carrying rifles, not balls.

1992 SEC Championship Game. If Monty Duncan comes back to the ball, Langham doesn't get a pick 6. We drive down the field and win. Gives us another SEC crown and costs Bama a MNC (though it might put another ring on Miami...on second thought...)

You bring up a lot of painful memories. I think the Dockett ordeal made me the angriest. I suspect we would have gotten spanked by Miami but lord knows been more competitive than Nebraska.
