This time he is unemployed. I know, I know, enjoying retirement and all that. Still I would not be surprised if they make a run at him.

If Stoops was the guy he would have already been hired, since he is unemployed there is nothing stopping him from signing the contract.

You all know that it will probably be somebody that we don’t even predict. Chump was the coach in waiting at Texas and nobody thought he was coming here. And Butters was completely out of left field.

I don't trust anything I see through the normal media channels as rumor... too early in the game.

God Stricklin make the hire; leak it to us now!
Seems like you get 10 complimenting posts, then 1 no Scott Frost post and that's the one everybody dwells on.

The difference this time is Foley isn't doing the hiring. I know he is still around, but he doesn't have the authority he had 3 years ago. If Foley was the AD, then you're correct. Foley would probably get Durkin or Addazio to be the next coach.

quick question: Do teams own "the rights" to coaches that "retire" before their contract is up? Didn't Stoops have another year on his contract? If so, wouldn't we have to wait until the end of Sooner season before publicly engaging Stoops? Semantics I know but it could be a reason Stoops can't immediate come onboard.

Different guy was making those hires... and he was an idiot when it came to football hires

From a very reliable source. UF has reached out to representatives of Bob Stoops, Chip Kelly, and Charlie Strong to gauge interest in becoming the #Gators next head coach. These are believed to be UF’s top choices.

Any chance this is legit?
It is absolutely legit. No doubt a hundred l(coaches, coordinators, ncaa and nfl) have been contacted to "gauge their interest".

My wife's sister is Stricklins nanny. She overheard him talking to our next coach:
