I get the honors to start this thing since the title is simply something I never thought I would see in my lifetime.

My alma mater has faced UF on the baseball and softball diamond, but never in one of the two major sports.

I'll chime in later with some detail about the G-W squad. They do open Friday night at scUM. G-W lost their two best players from last season, one to graduation, the other to transfer, but still have some decent talent.

One nugget...G-W HC Tim Craft is a UF alum.

Good place to put this. Keyontae comitted tonight!!!!!!

Shoot pretty under 30% from the arc in the EYBL last summer, but shot really well inside the arc. This matches his rep as a really athletic SF. He was more productive in his two playoff games, so maybe he was coasting some in other games.

He is tearing it up this year. Really improved shot and is out playing Keldon Johnson (SG) on his own team who is a 5 Star top 15 prospect probably picking UK today. Keyontae is rising fast. Saw where 1 of the recruiting sites said if he keeps improving in college he could end up being on of the best recruits from the class. Unlimited potential

But at 6'5" SF he'll be facing standard 6'8" forwards?

As I said, in the small samples at the end of the EYBL he did shoot better. He also rebounded better. So that could be just small sample variation or a change. I believe in EYBL stats a bit more as we know something about the competition which we don't really know for opponents even for places like Oak Hill. As far as unlimited potential goes, well unless like Chandler Parsons he grows a couple of inches in college his height is a negative other than as a guard rogdochar pointed out.

Not in college. Very few teams have tall SFs and Johnson has crazy long arms/reach

Alas as Donovan knew and showed us the only teams with big mismatch players at the 3 in college are the teams you must beat to win a title. That is why Donovan was always looking for Miller, Drejer, Brewer, Parsons etc. Three guards rarely, if ever, gets you a title.

The last team in the last 10 years to have a big SF and win it all...says a lot about what probably isn't needed in college...but is abuse asset if you have it

UNC started a 6'8" SF in Jackson last year in the championship game. Gonzaga as midmajor started 3 guards 6'4" and 6'3" tall. Now I think it possible because he is so long and so athletic Johnson might make a good college 3, but the potential issue is there. As a UF fan I of course hope he becomes the best player in the country.

Agreed, but Jackson was actually UNC's SG. Pinson was their SF at 6'6. They had a weird lineup. Very similar to ours this year size wise imo. Defensively it may have been Jackson at SF, but offensively he was their only SG on their roster really
