For me, I consider Chip Kelly's last 5 years losing seasons. Who considers them CFB winning seasons?
was he at Philly for 5 years. How time flies when you're old.

There is absolutely no idea what he has negotiated with UCF as a result of all this attention. I can say that those who work in planning around Gainesville/UF/Alachua County who have run into UCF's president and followed his moves, he is extremely aggressive and wants to make UCF the flagship school in Florida. It sounds funny, but UCF is making moves. Having a bigtime football team would do wonders for UCF's brand. They very well could amend his contract with a $4MM base and $10MM bonus if he gets UCF into a P5 conference. So I really wouldn't be surprised if they offered him something major.

As far as Kelly, I'm not a real big fan of his, but I would be ecstatic if he came here. If that is the case, announce it and let's go!
Hitt is set to retire next year, so he could be trying to go out with a bang.
That said, UCF, while having a large number of students, still doesn't have the donor base behind them that schools like UF does. Hell, they are still trying to get their assistants paid decently. A move to a P5 conference could change that though.
Big 12 seems like their only legitimate option to get into a power 5 conference, however they've taken shots at it before. Honestly, I don't know why the Big 12 hasn't scooped up UCF and USF (perhaps) yet and they still run around with just 10 teams...makes no sense.

If Kelly is a done deal what's the hold up announcing it? he's not currently coaching so there shouldn't be a problem putting it out there, it would go along way to solidify the recruiting class I would imagine. Not buying it.

I don't blame Frost for not coming here..The nearly total sh!tstorm we are right now, his brand being high right now, ours a little tarnished. He can afford to wait.

Fail Philly, fail San Fran, out one year. On this guy, all forgiveness on inability to adjust, even to save his job?? And not using his personel correctly?? By those he seems another costly mistake, at greater cost$ everyet.?

NFL and college football are two completely different games.

If it is actually true then we should have a new coach very soon, not after the season but in plenty of time to let recruits know and therefore let them make decisions based on knowledge rather than rumor.

I doubt it is true and if so he better get a staff full of highly competent and experienced SEC assistants and a great strength coach as well. He will need money for other staffers like Saban has as well.

Time will tell, and it might be that Frost wants to stay, after all money is not a motivator for everyone and after you have plenty more is not that attractive.

Having a legacy of transforming a program can be quite attractive, after all they are a large school, and perhaps could become one of our states top say four programs or better.

If I recall from many moons ago as an insider on another board, Franz and Hollywood Bob both swore Stoops was a done deal to us after Spurrier left. Hope this time he is right here though!

I never thought there was any chance of Kelly coming, although when Ox made a sticky thread claiming insider info that he was excluded from consideration, that did increase the odds of him being the guy significantly :D

According to the interview Ox would actually be proven correct. Kelly was not an option until they contacted him about Frost which lines up with Ox saying he is not an option. Things changed and I, for one, am stoked. Just make it official already!

Pete Carroll and Nick Saban were miserable failures in the NFL before returning to college and winning championships. SOS was a miserable failure in the NFL and returned to bring an unprecedented run of success to South Carolina.

You still have to negotiate a contract and they aren't going to announce anything until that is signed

This is exactly what I was thinking. I just hope the above is closer to the rule than the exception.
