Most encouraging going forward to tougher competition ... unless GW is a really good team!
I do think Egor will be our long-time sought 20+ ppg. Plus we could have 2-3 16-ppg guys to back him up.
3Gor, in the future, will draw defenders, leaving teammates with space to operate & score.+++ Go Gators, thank you so much for so much.

Our freshmen are fearless. Can’t overstate that.

This is a deep and athletic team. Love what White is building!

For me personally, White is overrated. He's too short. He can't coach defense. His recruiting is suspect. He doesn't know about the midline. I could go on and on and on... but the bottom line is, we have scored big-time in hiring Mike White. It's a fun style of play, and it's attracting a lot of shooters and athletic players. After watching the bottom fall out of the football program, I just want us all to be Super Happy about how the Mike White hire is turning out.

All the NaySayers can "SuckIt!" [insert Kenny Power's Crotch Chop here].

Nice first game, UF fell in love with the arc early and that is something to be careful about against better competition. It will be interesting to see how Koulechov does against more athletic defenders. Still of course if you leave him open, he will burn you.

I really want to see the bigs get more settled into the games, particularly Stone and Bassett. I thought Hayes and Gak were pretty solid.

No denying this may be the best offense team we've had in years. I love that Ballard has the green light and isn't afraid. I also love that White isn't just happy with a talented team on offense. He'll get these guys playing top notch D too.

Basically most good, but as get more experienced, should groom a more cohesive defense. It's needed. Like to see White get them running plays around 3Gor and Allen at getting 20+ each, keeping the others at the ready to score 16 apiece. We could have two at 20 pts and three guys at 16 = 88 against tougher opponents. That and defense should allow us to win in the tournament in Oregon. That would put UK, Duke & Mich state on notice and us Rowdy-Reptiles on cloud-9. Go Gators.

Next game = vs UNF, this Thursday, 7PM, SEC network... at Exatec (home)

I would not have UF favored to win the Phil Knight event just yet. That is when we are going to need to have the front court playing well too.

Overall these Gators shot FG= 58% ...3s = 51.7% ... FTs = 77.8%
2nd half ... FG = 68.9% ... 3s = 62.5% ... FTs = 76.19% (a scorching show)
Chase Johnson ... on limited time got FG 3-3 ... FTs 3-3 ... 9 points
Okauru ... FG = 3-4 ... 3s = 2-2 ... FT = 5-7 and 13 pts.
Hudson ... FG = 6-8 ... 3s = 3-5 ... total 16 points (2nd leading scorer)
On somewhat limited time Gak 2-4 & 7 rebounds (tops on team)
Ballard ... FG = 6-12 ... 4 rebounds & total 14 points.
K.Allen ... FG = 3-9 ... 3s = 2-6 ... total 9 points ... this is off-night for him. That needs changing? I know, one game.
Of course Igor ... FG = 11-17 ... 3s = 6-9 ... FTs = 6-6 ... total 34 points.
Notice how dynamic all our newcomers were. Couldn't ask for more. Hope should be that they all get better.
It's all looking good. And imagine in January when Egbunu gets worked in.

Love watching the great perimeter shooting, and I will be glad when we can dominate a team with our front court. Come February, having Egbunu back pounding in the paint, with the in-out option to at least 3 guys who are deadly from deep, this team will be very hard to defend.

Although it seemed difficult to maintain the intensity of the first half when up 40 in the second, I liked the continuing emphasis on great defense, which is the main reason I prefer college ball over the whiny NBA guys.

Go Gators! Gonna be a fun season!

Igor can really shoot it. I'm guessing he starts at the 3 with Hudson coming in off the bench going forward. Hayes was really good defensively.
I believe he will move to the four when Big Jon comes back, and the backup front court will be Gak, Stone and a few minutes for Johnson.
I was impressed by all three true freshmen. Bassett will probably see his role reduced entirely when Jon comes back . Ballard after a questionable start finished the game well. Driving to the basket and showing off a good mid range game. Hayes will probably have to play a good bit of center late in games even when Jon comes back. Gak is an obvious hack and send to the line candidate which you can't really play late in close games. All in all this looks like it could be a damn fine season for us.
