Correct. Grad Transfer like Canyon Barry last year.

I believe we only have Hudson for 1-2 yrs as well, since he transferred from VT. EDIT - yes, Hudson played 2 yrs at VT, sat last year at UF (leading scorer on scout team), and would have 2 yrs of eligibility for us.

Game 1 is in the books. Great offense, mediocre D.

Notes-

3Gor looks like he will have an amazing year

Allen can fill in at PG pretty well and looks to have a POTY run this year

Hudson is points in a second, but needs to get more physical on D and reb. Did better in the 2nd half

Chiozza looks to be faster and quicker with passing like some have never seen before. Shot looks improved

Hayes disappeared some on both ends of the court. Looks to have a decent jumper now though

Stone looked bad, hopefully foul trouble won't be the norm because we need his size at the 4

Okauru impressed scoring wise. Looks more like a SG than a PG right now

Ballard started slow but ended with lots of confidence showing his skills offensively

Johnson limited min still but showed his athleticism on both ends. Good inside skill with a jumper. Needs to bulk up and get more physical

Gak looks to be one of the most improved players. I think he is still easing his way back from knee swelling, but he has bulked up and will be a defensive force until Egbunu returns

Bassett has a big body and some toughness but has to learn to play without fouling

Overall-

Defense, defense, defense. Keep at it and get tougher and more physical. Not having Egbunu will be noticeable unless they put forth more focus and intensity on defense.

This team should be loads of FUN!!!!!!!!!

BTW, Bassett might have set a UF record in fouling out in 4 minutes of court time. It is a bit amusing to me only because he looked so good against Tampa that I suspect this will not happen again. I am not sure why Bassett and Stone picked up so many fouls so quickly in that game.

Part of it is the other team was playing 5 guards essentially. Probably not used to having guard such quicker players due to size difference

I am sure that was some of it and of course some of it was having a huge lead much of the game. It is easy to let your focus slip a bit on defense when you have a big lead. Another factor was GWU ran their offense throughout and took the ball inside all game.

Perfect! We need an enforcer down low. Need a hard foul, out in Bassett.

For me personally, White is overrated. He's too short. He can't coach defense. His recruiting is suspect. He doesn't know about the midline. I could go on and on and on... but the bottom line is, we have scored big-time in hiring Mike White. It's a fun style of play, and it's attracting a lot of shooters and athletic players. After watching the bottom fall out of the football program, I just want us all to be Super Happy about how the Mike White hire is turning out.

All the NaySayers can "SuckIt!" [insert Kenny Power's Crotch Chop here].
I am sure that we all want to thank Foley for this hire.

I would not have UF favored to win the Phil Knight event just yet. That is when we are going to need to have the front court playing well too.

100% agree on your caution, Insti ... but I said "win in the tournament" not win the tournament, still I'll be expectantly watching vs Gonzaga to take us vs Duke.

I'm just saying we should have some **cking perspective. I lived through the Don Devoe era. Still attended every game. The fair weather only Gators just annoy me. I like the Roller Coaster.... so yeah, way to go Foley, your terrible asshat of a human being...we all know what you did to the football program you closet Seminole...Damn you to hell Foley. 4 and 8 Foley. 4 and 8 twice Foley!
