Being contrarian as why Kelly would choose UCLA

1.While UCLA is not Florida as far as a football program, this aint 2007 anymore and the SEC has lost some shine.

2. UCLA is in LA. Maybe he wants to be in the big city, hollywood, the lights etc. He is a single guy and, well, LA could be better for his lifestyle, whatever that may be.

3. Not as much pressure there. The media will look at Lakers, Dodgers, Clippers, Kings, USC before getting to UCLA. If we wins, he is a hero, if he loses, well just another UCLA bad team.

4. He will be on TV often, will be the big dog in the PAC 12

Only one reason to be in Florida, do you want to beat the best and have a better chance at winning a NC? Do you want to knock of Saban. Pressure here is as high as the Eagles and maybe he liked being a saint at Oregon for just being in BCS. So if he is looking to replicate his Oregon tenure, UCLA would be better fit.

Hoping he says football and winning is the only thing that matters and UF gives me a better chance.

(Money of course is always a consideration, I would hope UF could pay him more)

So again watch the actions. Kelly went to LA? Where’s the flight tracker posts. Someone posted a fake flight plan from Knoxville to NH and it straight blew up. Yet, he is actually rumored to go somewhere and no one can find the flight? Come on guys, you’re jumping in the panel can that says candy on the side.

@osgators: Just built a $75 million standalone, has a a booster worth $300 million on search committee. There's cash there and a facility UF will not have for years.

To my understanding, he would have been allowed to leave for the NFL with little to no monetary penalty. I see a great parallel between that and the Kelly stipulation.
Wut. After his first ****ing year 78. Chip hasn’t coached a game for us. You can’t back out days after signing a contract without penalty. That would be retarded by our lawyers and officials to allow. I don’t believe it for a second

What's Ox been preaching from day one? It's a f*cking business. College football has long since ceased to be about the game and school allegiance. It's all about big bucks and what can I extract from the other guy.
bingo...if our admin isn't willing to do what it takes to reel in the top coaches, then we don't deserve them.
This nonsense that a coach has to commit to a school is just that, nonsense.
Identify your guy, then do what you have to, to get him.

Then consider the alternative. He tells our people, you're demanding a signature? F*ck you if I can't talk to UCLA. When's your plane leaving?

Thought the same thing. Somehow everyone's being tracked but Kelly can fly across the country on Tuesday, meet with UCLA leadership, and nobody noticed?

I'm with Slevin here, apples and oranges, both fruit but not the same.

Ok. I think you’re confusing my argument.

I think it’s retarded to hand over a contract and have someone sign it with a provision to change your mind at any time and it be ok. That’s not how any of this works. I’m saying Darren’s sources say that, and I’m 1. calling bullsheeit and 2. If true fire everyone. Every last god damn one of them

When things don't make sense it is always one of two things (or both):

1. You don't have all the information.
2. The information you have is incorrect.
and sometimes does not make since even when you do have all the information and its correct.

I'm not confusing it all. I'm escalating it. Guess when it got real? When UCLA fired Mora while UF's plane was en route to New Hampshire. That changed everything.

Is this booster going to fork over his fortune to pay chip? No.

They still don’t have the money we do
