That would take some intricate collusion. The truth is usually more in line with the simple answers.

I'm not talking about you, personally, but the whole notion of Chip to UCLA seems ridiculous to me. For over a week, rumor after rumor surfaced regarding Chip to UF. We actually have documented PROOF that our entire university leadership took a personal flight to meet Chip. The AD returns home grinning from ear to ear. We hear the deal is virtually signed. Then, we hear what's a known fabrication, in that, Chip flew out to LA. And now everyone's convinced he's interested in UCLA. Man, you guys are emotional. Stop following the storylines and start studying the facts. You'd see that this is all an act to pretend that he's undecided. I know a lot of people have questioned why the AD would delay the announcement, but we have to look to history. Teams NEVER hire coaches before the end of the regular season. When has Kelly(an east coast guy) ever mention that he prefers the West Coast? Yet, it gets thrown around as fact on nearly a daily basis. When I keep hearing that as the main source of reasoning behind him picking UCLA, I know that someone's blowing major smoke up our a$$es.

The AD's office is stuffed full of incompetence. Obviously, some of the football money has to be spent on other sports, but strangling football is a suicidal path.

I think the bigger problem may be the millions that the UAA gives the university yearly. Most schools don't (can't afford to) do this. Those millions should be what funds facilities so they don't need to borrow or raise money. They could also use some of it to pay a real coach and if they did we could pay CK Saban money with no problem.

Alright, alright. Chip negotiates like Al Qaeda. I’m prepared to throw in a few Oxbucks to finally put this thing to rest. Your welcome. Press conference on Monday.

Agreed. I will give the few that I have and promise all future Oxbucks to sweeten the deal...

You and I are at the poverty level of oxbucks. We shouldn't have to give any, in fact we should get Oxstamps to help us get through the week. All these people living it up on Oxbucks should have to pay more, like 70% of their Oxincome.

First of all, it doesnt sound logical that our top brass flew out to meet with him and agreed to a contract that allowed him to back out. I mean who in their right mind even draws up a contract like that? Next, I will mention how SS said dont believe anything until he says it. Also, its a well known fact that Kelly is hush hush and will not discuss anything and his people are all sworn to secrecy. I think Kelly signed and both parties made it a point to keep it all under wraps until the season is over and everything else is a diversion. SS got his guy. He isnt going to the west coast he will be our next coach.

Fooley paid 4.5 mil to Butters and 4.0 mil to Chimp to not coach for three years.

How much money did those under the radar no name budget hires actually save us?
This was originally posted as an ongoing answer to a post asserting that a 5M offer to Frost would be a low-ball offer. This is silly on a number of levels. First, it’s just not. This kind of cabbage puts a coach in the ranks of the top ten of Division One football. Mac was coming in at 15. Second there’s no correlation between pay and performance. See, the aforementioned, Kevin Sumlin, the latter coming in at number 10 and Rich Rod, who gets 5.6 (ASU is an impressive 6-5). Pay your coach, yes. If you’re going to pay him like he’s Urban Meyer, you better make sure he’s Urban Meyer. If he’s CK put him in the top 5. But get a grip.

Anyone consider that Kelly and Frost are colluding on this. We can’t speak with Frost but Kelly can. The longer CK makes us wait to turn us down the more desperate we become. Thus they drive the price of Frost up. All the while CK knows he is going to Cali.

Just another possibility.

I actually had a moment yesterday where I put my tinfoil hat on and thought maybe Kelly was vetting us on Frost's behalf, trying to see what our commitment would be moving forward and such.

I think this coaching search is playing tricks on us because of how bad the last two hires were.

Not a fan of Four Roses. Liked their barrel strength, but have not tried any other limited release stuff. Heard the LE stuff is good. Is that Stagg jr or sr?

Took me a while to find the Four Roses sweet spot but once the light bulb went on it became one of my favorites. I pretty much only drink their barrel proofers and limiteds though. The small batch is just ok and the single barrel can be good sometimes.

I actually don’t like Stagg jr. too hot for me. George T Stagg is some of my favorite stuff out there and is what I had last night.
