Tonight at 11PM .... ESPN2
On paper Gonzaga doesn't seem formidable = lots of young players, inexperienced.
2 Tallest guys at 6'10" are (Fr)(So) . Other players 6'8" but lightweights.

Johnathan Williams = 6'9".... 228 lbs ... 10.2 ppg ... 40% at 3s

Brandon Clarke = (Jr.) 6'8"... 210 lbs, last season ave 17ppg ... 8.7 rebs ... 2.6 blks

Hachimura = 6'8" 225 lbs. 2.8ppg

Jeremy Jones = (RSJr) ... 6'7" ... 213 lbs ... 2ppg ... This guy played at Rice with Egor 2014-15.

Tillie is French ... (So)... 6'10" ... 215 lbs ... 4.2ppg

Silas Melson ...(Sr) ... 6'4" G 7.2 ppg ...

Another tough test to start the season. Can we continue our hot shooting against the Zags?? Late night game so take a nap before the game ladies! Revenge game for our Gators as we lost to the Zags last year in the last few minutes of the game. Go Gators!!

UF is good at center if Hayes is not violating team rules. I like the Hayes/Gak rotation. To me a bigger issue for UF is Bassett fouling out again, this time in 10 minutes of play. That leaves UF with only 3 bigs most of the game.

Florida takes on Gonzaga tonight at 11:30 PM on ESPN2 in the 2nd game of the PK80. This will be the biggest test of the season so far. Gonzaga is big and talented at all positions. We will need to play similar to last night against Stanford, but with better defense overall. Hopefully, Hayes is back and hungry to play

The Zags are 4-0 and owe UF for all creation as Casey Calvert's uncalled over the back foul put back in 1999 put their program on the map.

They have started the same five all year all of whom average double figures in points:

Perkin: 6'3" 186 lbs JR, leading scorer at 15.0 per game, shooting better than 50% from the arc and leading assist man at 3.8 per game in 30.3 minutes.
Melson: 6'4" 180 lbs SR, 10.0 point per game in 28.5 minutes.
Williams: 6'9" 225 lbs SR, second leading scorer and rebounder in 25.8 minutes.
Kispert: 6'6" 215 lbs, FR, 43.8% from the arc in 24.8 minutes.
Tillie: 6'10" 200 lbs SOPH, 9.2 rebounds per game and almost averages a double double in 23.3 minutes.

They play four other players 10+ minutes a game. Two 6'5" guys, a 6'8" guy and a 6'11" guy. Two of them average almost 10 points a game too.

Looks like we may face Duke if this game keep going this way. Texas is 4-20 for 3s with 14 min left in the 2nd. Duke will hit a run soon I expect

Yeah we want Duke to win. UF needs two wins in this tourney. If UF loses to Gonzaga, facing Duke is to a more likely 2 loss tourney than than facing UTx in my view.
