I heard Mullen's agent inserted a clause that says he will always be - at least - the 2nd highest paid coach in the conference. So if Jimbo gets $7.5 million, Mullen's kicker goes into effect and he gets a $500,001 raise before he coaches his first game.

(just kidding....but w/ our luck...and our past contract negotiating skills, it wouldn't surprise me)

How can you say that when they’ve only had a coach for like 25 years in Bowden then hired from within. There’s nothing to support that people won’t want to go there. Frankly I think they get someone better than us (probably Taggert) and continue to own our ass. sad but true.

I'm not sure how good Taggert is or who FSU gets, but you're probably right. Since 1987 - outside of 5 years under Meyer - FSU has pretty much owned us. Spurrier never could win in Tallahassee, we lost to them during our first NC year, and they have a big winning percentage on us over the last 30 years.....and they've only had 2 coaches during that time. We've had, what, 10 (including 3 interims)?

I hate FSU and I hope they pay to devil for their last few years of success under Jimbo and Jamies.

I will believe Jimbo leaving FSU when I see it. My guess is that he is angling for another raise.
The Aggies plays in the SEC West. That means having to run the annual gauntlet of Alabama/Auburn/LSU. Not to mention the decent teams being put up by Arky/MSU/Old Miss.
Jimbo has a huge ego, and isn't the easiest man to work for. He is buddies with the AD, but
is that enough to trump what he has in Tallahassee?

That may be true but completely irrelevant since TAMU is located in College Station which is about 600 miles from Lubbock.
Texas Tech is in Lubbock.
