We will be fine. Give Coach Dan a chance. He has been on the job less than a week. If I was in his shoes, I would not be held hostage by 17-year-old kids who want to determine who will or will not be on the coaching staff. And there will always be defections in times like these. As most of us said during the coach search, we want people who want to be Gators. If they don't want to be here.... buh bye!

I'm not usually a WDWHA guy, but his "Oh I'm gone!" comment about the possibility of Shannon not being retained tells me a lot about him. Not interested in a kid who thinks he makes all the rules, and isn't even willing to give UF a chance to hire a new DC to replace the old.

I'll also add this. When Richt was fired at uga, he was very clear with Eason and his family that he should stick with his uga commitment--even after he was hired at um. That's class. For all the "class guy" talk I've heard regarding Shannnon and how much he values UF, you'd think he could do a little of the same reasoning with these kids, but I guess not.

Maybe Richt just realized how much Eason sucked after he had been fired.

They aren’t interchangeable but some players - especially Gardner - can play either. The injuries to Harris & Washington pulled him back and forced more playing time for young guys, especially Wilson & Henderson. (I think those 2 are going to be great.)

And while we have a lot of DBs, you are absolutely right. We need more elite CBs and unless it’s a Gardner or Dawson-type player safeties aren’t an answer. CBs can slide back to safety much more often than the reverse.

He's going to be here at least 3 years. You may want to settle in and accept it. Let's forget about winning championships for a while and just focus on what it's going to take to rebuild the program from the ground up.

Good luck to this kid. Hope he has a good career at Jacksonville State after whatever trouble he gets in due to his self-importance, I'm-bullet-proof, you-need-me-more-than-I-need-you attitude.
Id be pretty happy with a bunch less south florida in our future.

Not gonna lose any sleep over a CB.

He’s here 5 years no matter what. I’m convinced the UAA wants some stability and that’s why we went to Mullen.
