Oregon fans are cheering wondering how they got so lucky. Lose the dolt who stunk for them AND get paid handsomely in the process!

How cute they want to be like us. I think Taggart is honestly seeing what his market value is and driving up his price with Oregon. He’s on the road this minute recruiting which would be idiotic if he was leaving. He’d get hit hard on the trail by other programs for having no loyalty and selling an empty bag of goods

I would be curious as to when, if ever, football has not been the top priority within the FSU athletic administration. If they have been emphasizing other sports at the expense of football then they should start hiring better coaches because I don't see them dominating the landscape in those arenas.

Disclaimer: I don't follow FSU closely in any sport so I can't say that there aren't other sports in which they're dominant. I do think that is a completely bogus reason given by JImbo and covers up the fact that HE didn't get along with members of the administration and the booster groups.
Only other fsu sports worth a crap are mens baseball and women's soccer. But neither of those are truly elite either. This sounds more like jimbo making excuses for wearing out his welcome.

FSU is a football program with a University attached. Find it hard to believe they aren’t all in with football.

He just wanted out of the State of Florida. Too many ex-Gators banging his old lady.

In Jimbo's press conference today at Texas A&M he said the reason he left Tallahassee was that he and the FSU administration were not on the same page as far as prioritizing football over other sports. He said the head coach and the university administration have to be United in their vision.

I know this was part, of course not the only problem, with some of our recent coaches and Foley who was an all sports trophy kind of guy.

How is f$u anything other than a football-first school??? Considering the great lengths the administration has gone through, with the help of tpd, to keep players eligible (shameos is only one example among many), jumbo is delusinole.

Correct. Those are the ONLY other sports they are decent at.

This was wholly an effort by Dumbo to put pressure on aTm to give him what he wants, to be on 'his' page.

My daughter is a runner, she was good enough to qualify for the state championships in her sport. We were up in Tally a few weeks ago. Got an unofficial tour of the athletic department, and while walking around we saw their "wall of fame" of their all-time best athletes (national champions, olympians, etc.) Other than football, they are subpar for athletics no doubt about it. The Gators probably have a bigger "wall of fame" list from the last 20 years vs FSU all time.

@PCreighton1: Source: #Ducks coach Willie Taggart almost called off meeting w/ #FSU after they only upped offer to $4.1M. Was furious considering $$ being paid to other HCs (Frost $5M, Mullen $6M) His agent asking for 5 yrs at $5M. @boatsanddroz @sportschop @sbnationradio @1029TheGame

@PCreighton1: #FSU being incredibly cheap w/ Taggart. Came very close to blowing negotiations today. Sources say Those close to program would not be happy with Charlie Strong as a fallback choice.

Jmo, but he’s angry because they aren’t driving his market value up. Not offering him more than that gives him no negotiating room for Oregon either. They might up his salary the few hundred k but nothing substantial that he’s looking for.

That’s what happens when you’re a mercenary coach, Tag. You’ve proven zero loyalty.

Doesn't Taggart have a $5 million per offer from Oregon now? Why the hell would FSU lowball him? Hopefully he doesn't get pissed and walk on it.
