Grass eater is 64 years old right? Im not saying he is too old but realistically, does the guy have it in him to turn that dumpster fire around and compete in the SEC? I think he wants to try but does he have it in him? How many fake field goals can you lean on to win games? I realize they worked well with Mac even when the entire world knew it was coming but thats another story....

have to drive through Knoxville again. I hate doing it because they're very persistent with the job offers.

I got Majors' job. I got Currie's job. You're next Davenport.

If you liked Nuss' offense, you'll love Miles'. Drives LSU fans nuts. His main claim to fame is stockpiling talent. No one will ever confuse Miles with being a teacher of the game. Tennessee fans will have to become content with grinding out 17-14 wins against Vanderbilt if they want Miles.
This year they lost to Vandy. Guess Miles would be an improvement.

I think he'll continue to do as he does, recruit big, strong, fast athletes who can get after the ball and quarterbacks who don't have an effing clue.
He wasnt really known as a great recruiter at Okie State. Now, it is Okie State, second fiddle to Okie in a state w no talent anyway, but Im not convinced he will recruit close to they way he used to recruit at LSU if he takes the from the Great Pumpkin.

He'll do about as well as Spurrier did at USCe. If even that.

It will be an excellent place for him to transition from to the retirement home.

Probably a real shocker to him that people had actually watched his gamefilm this wanted nothing to do with him.

Like Butters.

I don't see him getting 11 wins in one season at Tennessee. I think he'll be a 7-9 win kinda guy there tops. I'd definitely feel good about another 4 in row.

That's pretty much Fulmer. He's a backstabber and these lunatics have forgotten all the bytching they did we he was still the HC. This is a match made in hell and you bet AD's around the country are going to be shoring up policies to prevent that from happening. They can refer to it as the VolTard Policy.

Fulmer backstabbed his way to the HC gig, and now the AD gig. It will be funny as hell to watch Les tell them no.
You guys mentioning this reminds me of the quote from Johnny Majors about Fulmer ascending to the HC position at Tennessee on the heels of Majors' open heart surgery. Something to the effect of...

"I didn't know that while the doctors were cutting me in the front, Fulmer was cutting me in the back!"

We should all have friends that are so concerned for our well-being. Good job, Vols!

All it does is show how clueless Fulmer might be as an AD...

Here are some potential names:

Those names, in no particular order:

  • SMU coach Chad Morris
  • Former LSU coach Les Miles
  • Auburn defensive coordinator Kevin Steele
  • Georgia defensive coordinator Mel Tucker
  • Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables
https://www.seccountry.com/tennesse...-5-candidates-vols-job-hopes-decision-tuesday

And he is reported to tell them he will be very involved. I would think most of these would not like that too much, perhaps Miles would accept that.

Comment as you desire.

I hope they get Kevin Steele. There's just something viscerally satisfying about the idea of UT fans watching their hero Fulmer burn what remains of their program to the ground through his involvement.

I think Les is the pick of the litter out of that list. The Vols need a 3 year coach to fix things. Of course, I hope they move in a different direction.

Just an update

My sources have informed me that I have not accepted the position at the University of Tennessee. Previous rumors that it's a done deal are false.

So that's why I got the call from them. Think I'll string them along so I can get another buck an hour out of my boss...then I'll tell them no.
