A reminder of what Corral can do in the pocket. Watch him juke a couple rushers and throw a perfect strike off the back foot at 0:18. This kid is extremely gifted.

I was getting ready to post the same video. I don't get why anyone says he can't run Mullen's offense and run it really well. I think that's a bunch of baloney. He's elusive and runs very well with decent acceleration and good decision making. He's every bit as good as the kid from UCF who runs the option and he's bigger and has a better arm. And he sure as hell isn't stiff and slow like Leak and Brantley.

Nope, he'd do just fine.

Because he is not a running QB. Its not about whether not he is fast or not, many WRs and DBs are fast, but they arent running backs. In this offense the QB is the primary RB, or one of two primary RBs and the defense essentially gets to pick their poison.

Im not going to argue it about it anymore but I will definitely say see I told you so when Mullinz decides to sign someone else.

If anything, he may be stringing Corral along in case he either doesn't get another QB or just wants to let him recruit for us. I just don't see how we don't get someone like Williams or Gatewood (if Malzahn goes to Arky)

Go back and look at Sas' post. Prescott posted great passing numbers in 2015 when asked. Mullen either needs a big-athlete running option or to impress upon Corral the need to add weight in the gym.
No, he didnt. What happened is he is such a badazz at running Q power that defenses were forced to put one or both safeties in the box. In Mullinz offense on many plays, it starts by the QB counting the defenders in the box and making a run pass decision based on that. 8-9 box throw to tje dude in space and hope he makes the cb miss.

It might not. He's a pro-type passer. I also think you're being selfishly stubborn if you think he can't make a positive impact in Mullen's offense. Stupid is probably a better word to describe.

So with Swonkey it's called 'instubbordination' and he'll never come around, '78.

Corral reminds me of Alex Smith at Utah. Dak is the outlier when it comes to a good passing QB under Mullen as a HC. The rest barely had many games over 250+ yards passing. In fact in 115 games under Mullen his QBs passed for 250 or more yards 31 times. Dak had 18 of those. In the 32 games Nick Fitzgerald started he threw for less than 200 yards 17 times and he was inaccurate. IMO Mullen as a QB guru is overrated. None of his QBs improved as passers from year to year except Dak. Did we hire the SEC spread option version of Mac? A supposed QB guru who got blown out by good teams and who had 1 good QB. I do think he'll recruit better.

Whether he signs someone else has no bearing on whether Corral can run this offense. As I said, he's every bit as good at running the ball as the kid from UCF. Just because the offense he played in HS isn't the same doesn't mean he can't run this one. Even though it looks like his HS did run the option sometimes. And I never said Mullen wouldn't try to sign someone else. It's pretty obvious that's what he's trying to do. Kind of understandable I guess judging by the fact that our current crop is pretty dismal.

Not sure about your eyes, but mine see the safeties consistently lined up in coverage. Do opposing defenses have to respect the run more with a Tebow-like athlete behind center? Of course they do. You just admitted to one of the strengths of the Mullen offense when personnel is optimized.

I'm not trying to compare Corral to Prescott, but rather to Leak given the circumstances. I'd rather have an athlete like Fields running that offense, but Corral will be okay.

What? Fields don't have highlights? Do they show him being a Mullen-like QB? Let's contrast those to Corral who actually wants to come here and lead the Gators.

I'm going to be pissed off if Mullen drives Corral away. Corral's going to be a Heisman candidate somewhere. I'm still unhappy we let Cam Newton and Will Grier get away. (If Mac were my coach I'd be taking a lot stronger things than you can get at GNC.)

Fields ain't loving anything but Dawgnation ... that would be urination. Anyway, won't these two come together at some respectable H.S. Alll-Star Game ? Do you think Matt will be shivering in his cleats?

Well we didn't let Cam get away so much as he broke the law and got in trouble and decided to leave.

A new name on one of the sites: Terry Wilson Jr

The kid was a 4* dual threat in 2016. Signed with Oregon and then redshirted. Played at JUCO in 2017. Has three years to play.

6'3" 205 lbs

He's 2 years removed from HS and still only 205. Sounds like he's a little on the small side from what we're expecting.

By the way, I liked the comparison of Corral to Alex Smith. He's actually bigger than Smith I would think but moves and throws like him.

Seriously, if Mullinz can't figure out a way to run his offense with a kid like Corral I don't know what to think. We're going to need one helluva defense I have a feeling.

everyone forgets the pending academic hearings about his multiple plagiarisms. The laptop incident would've worked itself out otherwise.

Have to admit I din't watch many MSU games in the last nine years... okay that's a lie, I didn't watch any MSU games in the last nine years but fortunately there's this thing called youtube and you can watch offense only plays for yourself and don't have to rely on a keyboard kowboy telling you what the offense is like. If you have any fear of Mullen not having a vertical passing game watch this game:

That's just one game but the other's weren't all QB up the middle and dive plays either. I think we'll be fine with whoever the QB is.
