Checking to see if you agree with Tuna that this team is “nothing special,” and not as good as we thought. Just trying to take notes.
No.. I think we win it all.....I was referring to the dislike. I gave him a like to counter it lol

Glad I clarified

We play #11 this Saturday. Going to have a better feel after that game to see how we respond to being punched in the face.

Egbunu was not such a dominate player = averaged 10 ppg, 6 rebounds, and really didn't do any "lights-out" defense beneath the basket. I know he had that nagging thumb injury, but I don't see him as a game changer when he returns, since he was only modestly decent when healthy last year.?? I don't see Egbunu changing what happened tonight. Any good team can beat us because our only successful style requires that we hit 50% in FGs with 45% in 3s.

Our shooters tonight lost it for us, plus FSU is a good team that wasn't challenged by us tonight. If Egbunu returns at full capabilities, he will improve us solely because we are nothing near the basket now. I don't see how White can make shooters not miss shots? Perhaps Egbunu in the middle emotionally peps up our guys, especially Gak & Hayes.?

We probably do not belong in the Top 10.?? Even in the games that we won, the other team's offense on the înside dominated.

LOVE seeing all the COMPLAINERS come out of the woodwork when we lose. They were NOWHERE to be found when we CRUSHED Stanford and beat Gonzaga....

Dude it's FSU, hello? , OWNED AND DESTROYED by a rival in football and basketball for years now sucks, at home no less, no one has given up but damn it's FS effing U , nut the f*ck up and have some pride.
For the most part nobody got too fired up about the Duke loss, because it's Duke, ranked and not a rival.
So I repeat FSU OWNS us in football and basketball and they're a rival, therefore it pisses people off more.

team had no energy tonight. I thought they would come out of halftime more fired up, but they sleptwalked through the layup line and looked like they had no legs the rest of the game. very disappointing

I was at the game. This is exactly correct.

There was simply zero energy in the ODome in my opinion, especially for a rivalry game. Between the terrible shooting, stupid turnovers and horrible officiating, it seemed impossible for this team to get any flow.

To me, it seemed like every FSU shot went in and was an And1. Sickening. We had TWO fast break points in the whole GAME. We got out hustled.

I thought we'd come out differently in the second half but it was even worse it seemed. Flat. Lost on offense. No bounce. Cheese didn't have a FG. Horrible FT shooting. Just a garbage performance.

It was a very disappointing performance. Losing to FSU means little in the overall picture but damn guys...that was weak and inexcusable.

We aren't a good defensive team. We were out rebounded and not just overall, but they got a ton of O rebounds. We turned the ball over way too much and most of the reason for that is our back court. After all this time Chris still hasn't settled into his role on this team. He forced shots that were just horrible and drove the paint with no place to go with the ball. We have NO inside game at all and it ain't gonna just magically show up when Big John comes back. This team has to play good defense, do all the fundamentals well (take good shots, stop with the stupid passes and T.O) and run something that looks like an offense.

Last night, they looked like some Nike HS allstar team in a showcase tourney pumping up shots, no defense and certainly no chemistry at all. Hopefully when conference play comes around they will get it together.

Egbunu's extremely important, he balances our team with his strength. We don't have another thick big guy.

Florida is down 42-35 at half. No worth watching the 2nd half. This team lacks heart and leadership with Chiozza playing like the high school Chiozza. FSU dictating the pace and everyone fading on shots. White has to adjust this team now.

My observations are aligned with this.

Chiozza was never in the game, despite playing 34 min (most of any UF player). He simply never looked interested.

For a bit in the first half, it felt like the refs were against us. Then for a different run (including the flagrant), it felt like they were against F$U. In the end, I didn't feel they really effected the game much.

We didn't hit shots. If we make some, that takes away some of their rebounding (or, hides some of our lack of rebounding), and cuts down on their fastbreaks. I'm not knowledgeable about basketball enough to know if we were simply taking bad shots or having a bad night shooting like we did against UNH. It looked to me like the same shots we have taken all season, they just weren't falling. It didn't feel like the F$U defense was that much in our face. We simply didn't hit shots.

I didn't realize how long their players were. I believe our players could have effected that some - better defense means being in position to harass the shooter and NOT commit a foul, and being in position to block out and get rebounds. There are times when a player is simply taller and will win the rebound, but there is a lot a player can do to help his cause, and we weren't doing any of it.

Coming back to the missed shots. I can't fathom how an entire team goes cold like that. In earlier games, we had 3gor go hot and carry us through a game. Hudson did that a bit in the PK80. Nobody could get their shooting straightened out, certainly not enough to carry us. A team has to have other players step up, not everybody crap the bed together.

White does carry a lot of the responsibility. I didn't know he told the kids it is 'just another game', but whatever - kids have to want to win every game, and they didn't. But wtf is with the lack of timeouts to regain focus and direct the players? This isn't the first game I've watched White let them play, hoping they can play themselves out of a funk....instead they let the hole get deeper. Managing the lineup....I get that Hayes, Gak, and Stone are all we have for big men and each is fairly limited in what they can do, but for God sake, keep at least one of them in to help rebound and block the lane...and make sure they understand that is their job. We can't put the season on hold until Egbunu returns, we need the players we have NOW to play better.

It was laughable to think we are some top 10 team with how we looked last night - crap shooting, lack of rebounding on either end, plethora of turnovers. I'll give credit to F$U for winning it, we didn't give it to them as much as they simply took it from us. They will get ranked, take some bruises for the ACC season, and likely be in the dance. We'll recover from this, and I'd like to think it is a teaching moment. But man, we stunk.
