This is just comical. Like having Nuss as your OC. Maybe Dooley will break out the gold colored pants.

Dooley’s attire always reminded me of Goldmember.

This is interesting, his brother and father in law were one of my high school coaches:

Southern Miss: Cornerbacks coach Dan Disch has accepted the head coaching job with the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes in Germany.

Houston: FAU offensive coordinator Kendal Briles has joined the Houston staff as offensive coordinator / quarterbacks / associate head coach, and Southeastern University offensive line coach Randy Clements has joined the Houston staff as offensive line coach / run game coordinator. Both previously worked at Baylor together. According to a memorandum of understanding obtained by The Athletic's Max Olson, both have two years deals, Briles will earn $400,000 annually, and Clements will earn $290,000. A clause in the deal states that Houston can terminate Briles with cause if negative information comes out regarding his time at Baylor that he hasn't disclosed.

This is mind-blowing. IMO, Canada was the best off-season OC hire in the country....and Orgeron butted heads w/ him, pulling a Muschamp. Honestly, I'm glad Canada is gone from there!

LSU:
Offensive coordinator Matt Canada will not return, and he will receive $1.7 million in buyout, according to The Advocate.

Mississippi State: Defensive line coach Brian Baker and cornerbacks coach Terrell Buckley have been retained by Joe Moorhead.

I thought I posted this yesterday....not sure what Disch is thinking, but he's gotta be nearing the end of his coaching life. He took the UF job under Zook and got canned the next year (when Zook got canned). He did okay though, going to Illinois w/ Zook and to Southern Miss. His brother and father-in-law were two of my HS coaches back in the day:

Texas A&M: The Aggies hired Dameyune Craig as wide receivers coach. Craig spent the 2017 season as an offensive analyst under current Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher at Florida State and has coached wide receivers at Auburn, Florida State and LSU.

This is where his team will be playing. Talk about big time.

Texas A&M: Green Bay Packers defensive front assistant Jerry Montgomery will join the Texas A&M staff, according to TexAgs, and previous defensive ends coach Terry Price has been retained, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Colorado State: Alabama defensive backs coach Derrick Ansley will become the defensive coordinator at Colorado State, according to The Coloradoan.

Texas A&M: The Aggies have officially hired Dameyune Craig as wide receivers coach. Craig spent the 2017 season as an offensive analyst under current Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher at Florida State and has coached wide receivers at Auburn, Florida State and LSU.

Moored for a brief port call, Kiel seemed like a pretty cool city. My shipmates thoroughly enjoyed Kielfest, which is basically dozens of local breweries setting up their beer tents along the marinas. Afterward, many never wanted to waste their time with a certain German beer commonly imported to the US. It just doesn’t compare. I’ve never been a fan of beer, so I was the guy who made sure everyone else knew which direction would get us back to the ship.

In a completely unrelated note, lots of guys got in trouble during our trip to Europe. More so than normal. No one really knows why.

:lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2:

After hiring a coach that failed at Ole Miss, LSU hires an OC last seen going 3-8 at Clemson twenty years ago?

I can't breathe. I love it nearly as much as Willy Fvkking Taggart.

Yes, this is a very questionable hire. Looks like LSU fans aren't too impressed either:

Is LSU settling by hiring Steve Ensminger as its full-time OC?

https://www.seccountry.com/lsu/lsu-settling-hiring-steve-ensminger-full-time-oc

Zing!
In what should go down as one of the great news dumps of all time, reports broke right around the time of kickoff of the national championship Monday night that LSU will promote tight ends coach Steve Ensminger to offensive coordinator to fill the vacancy left by recently dismissed coordinator Matt Canada. A former LSU quarterback and longtime college assistant, Ensminger notably served as the Tigers’ interim offensive coordinator after Cam Cameron’s dismissal in 2016.

As I’ll write more about later Tuesday on SEC Country, Ensminger is a fine choice to be the Tigers’ next offensive coordinator. His 2016 offenses averaged more yards and points per game than Canada’s or Cameron’s. But promoting Ensminger isn’t the sort of move a coach makes when he’s trying to inspire a fan base.

Which leads us to the big question: Did LSU coach Ed Orgeron promote Ensminger to find some fragment of stability or is this LSU settling for an internal candidate because no one else was biting? The way things ended with Canada looked ugly and it would be understandable if a high-level outside candidate didn’t want to take on that risk. But it’s also logical for Orgeron to stick with his guy and try to replicate the success from 2016.

Whichever way you slice it, Orgeron has been clear that he believes LSU should have the best coordinators in college football. In Ensminger, that isn’t the reality. He’s a fine coach, but he hasn’t been a full-time coordinator since the ’90s. This is Orgeron picking his guy instead of looking for the best one. Which, again, is fine.

But it’s hard to say it’s more than a settle job.

Arkansas: has made its hire of SMU OC/QB Coach Joe Craddock as its offensive coordinator official. Craddock spent the past three seasons as SMU’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Before then, he spent three years at Clemson as an offensive graduate assistant (2013-14) and a player development coach (2012). Craddock’s offense at SMU included some highlights this season. The unit ranked No. 8 in the FBS in scoring offense (40.2 points), No. 13 in total offense (493.8 yards) and No. 16 in passing yards (308 yards). The Mustangs finished 7-6.

A couple of former UF assistants:

Maryland: Chuck Heater’s title at Maryland is safeties coach, and Bryan Stinespring’s title is offensive line coach.

North Carolina A&T: Head coach Rod Broadway has announced his retirement, and defensive coordinator Sam Washington has been promoted to head coach.

We owe Randy Shannon $2.2 million....SMH

UCF: Defensive coordinator Randy Shannon’s contract is a three-year deal that pays $300,000 in the first two years and $1 million in the third, according to USA Today. Shannon is due $2.2 million in buyout from Florida in those first two years. Shannon would also get a $300,000 retention bonus in February 2020.

I thought Harbaugh made over $9 million? If this is true, Mullen is making more than him!

Michigan: Jim Harbaugh is scheduled to receive a 10 percent raise on Thursday, according to MLive. That will increase his 2018 compensation by $500,000 to $5.5 million. Offensive coordinator Tim Drevno and defensive coordinator Don Brown are also scheduled to receive retention bonuses.

-----

Former UF S&C coach under Spurrier?

Texas A&M: Oklahoma head strength coach Jerry Schmidt will join the Texas A&M staff, according to WWLS.

Furman: Former South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw will join the staff as tight ends coach.

Notre Dame: The Irish made two promotions: Clark Lea is now defensive coordinator / linebackers coach, and Mike Elston is now associate head coach / defensive line. Lea previously was the Notre Dame linebackers coach, and Elston's title had been assistant head coach / defensive line.

It is amazing what they WONT spend money on.... and what they will.

Yep.

They owe the entire staff, except for Seider. I'd be curious what that total is. Nussmeir is around $2 million. Nord is at least $900K.

The other thing w/ our fired assistants, I'm sure they are all accepting deals like Shannon's - where they take less money while UF still owes them money.

(I just looked it up) Brad Davis is getting $400K from Missouri (he made $301K at UF, according to this article): http://www.stltoday.com/sports/coll...cle_f14c718e-6282-532c-89f9-7ee2f7738c9b.html
