Who will ever know? According to you all Mullen's offense consists of is a dive by the qb or a jet sweep to a wr.
:lmao2:

Actually the defense essentially gets to pick their poison in the option. If you have John Brantley or Chris Leak running it, they player getting read after being unblocked (usually the DE but not always) just takes the RB and forces the QB to keep it (although Leak usually gave anyway). When you have a QB like Tebow, they tend to take or cheat toward him and give the RB more berth.

They both have to be a threat or the defense shades the other way. We will know quickly. We will be running the option 80% of the time (even though some will be waggles or shovel passes depending on the reads).

Youre right though. The TE coach is easily the least important on the field. The real issue is how big of a dropoff do we have at RB.

Obviously don’t like losing Seider, and would rather him than Knox. That said, everything I’ve seen shows Scott as a solid hire, but who knows :dunno:

Scott is mehhhhh. I dont care.

Seider was never going to stay to be TE and they knew it when they moved him. Ironically, Knox HAD coached TEs. They apparently wanted to fire Seider but didnt have the balls to do it straight up and werent going tondo it before the first signing day.

Whatever. It is done.

We will see if this Cowbell staff with a double splash of Life Champions is good enoughto keep Mullinz employed.

He’s a running backs coach at PSU.

That didn't take long; I bet Seider was on the phone prospecting vacancies the minute Mullins rolled out the invite to Knox. Seider was like TE coach my ass....as a matter of fact, you can kiss my ass....see ya Cuz Eddie!!

@Marianna-FL_Gator can you check with your sources. I recently heard that Seider was pushed out and was actually called a "snake" by some on the staff. Basically, he wasn't a fit on Mullen's staff and got encouraged to leave, which is why he left prior to NSD rather than waiting until after. Given the timing of events it makes sense, just wondering if it holds any truth or not.

Wow. Classy farewell... surprised to hear a different report from behind the scenes. I really wish we had kept him, but staff chemistry is even more important than team chemistry. I hope this isn’t from any new assistants pointing fingers, or we’ll likely see more drama in the future.

As for Scott, he’s got a more rounded offensive background, but back to a position coach. I hope that works in our favor, but hard to say (I really know nothing about the guy). Seider’s production with player development and recruiting will be difficult (but not impossible) to match.

The only friction was Seider being moved to TE coach and wanting to stay as RB coach. He is far from a snake. Forget his coaching and recruiting ability for a moment....he was and is a class act. The so-called friction was players disappointed to lose their proven position coach. The players loyalty to Seider was uncomfortable for some. He had to go...all sides in agreement.

Let’s support the new RB coach and the new TE coach. Hope they do great. But you may be delusional if you don’t think we just lost a superior coach.

Remind me again who our last 1k yard back was and where they were drafted?

At least he's been thought of enough by peers to be an interim HC and an OC. Seider is what, yet again? Just an rb coach. After 10 years that is all he's thought of as being. Nothing more. They've both put about the same amount of players into the nfl. I don't get how Seider is some huge loss. He's just an RB coach. He's a good one, but replaceable. He's a solid recruiter, but so is Scott. Look up how many great OCs and DCs failed in their first seasons. The list is long. And he wasn't a failure in his brief stint as HC (4-2). He's interviewed for 2 head coaching gigs the last 3 years. Was Seider? No. Seider wasn't even a thought in ADs minds. On paper, this is an upgrade.

You know that Seider was here only one year, right? And that his freshmen were ready to play. We finally had backs hitting the right holes at the right time and making their blocks usually on passing plays?

You should just leave it at that. You are ignorant on the subject. Leave it there.

I fully expect a thud on Feb 2. Seider was our elite recruiter. We have none now. All so we can keep Knox and hire a Life Champion.
