Will Ole Miss go after Mike White? Do you care if they do?

Unless there was a real opportunity to bring back Billy I want White to stay. I think he is a good coach and I really believe he will develop into a great coach.

Pretty much my thoughts. I have my doubts about White but he’s shown flashes of being a good, young coach with a bright future. Hope he develops into a great one.

Nice to hear, but they never say they are interested until they get the job.
Yeah, but in his statement he referred to Florida as one of the best jobs in the country. Didn't say that about Oxford...just that it was a "great" place. He knows it's a step down.

Basketball wise, I think it would be a small step down, but not overly so. Money always talks, but I do not think there are enough old writers in Oxford who care that much about basketball. However Ole Miss has one advantage over UF in that they have a beautiful brand new basketball arena, vs. a refurbished dump that we play in. Sure it looks nicer than before but it still has issues due to age and the fact that you can fall face first into a pool if you take a wrong step! But neither place is one that you can win really big every year b/c you can't get those type players. But you can be a serious player probably every 2-3 years if you can recruit and develop the right combo of players.

All this talk about Billy D returning is like when everyone kept talking about SOS returning...it isn't happening. If you want White gone to bring in another coach fine but the Billy D returning dream is just that

You say you never want to talk about basketball or “non revenue” sports and yet here you are. Never missing the opportunity to spew trash. As Shrek would say, shut up donkeeeyyy!

Btw, we are projected as a 4 seed in the tourney ;)

Seriously you claim to be a fan of UF and clearly do not know that UF in the last 25 years has been to the final four 5 times and to the round of eight 9 times. That is making the round of eight every 2.8 years and more frequently in the last decade.

The idea that a coach can not win as big year in and year out at UF as anywhere is preposterous. UF has already done that over the last 25 years.

I guess this is the place to post this.

247sports updated their basketball recruit rankings.

https://247sports.com/Season/2018-Basketball/CompositeRecruitRankings?InstitutionGroup=HighSchool

1. Andrew Nembhart is a 5 star player again in the composite ranking. They seem to change this from time to time and still have him a 4 star player in the site rankings..

2. Noah Locke maybe fell a bit to 69th. I do not remember what he was ranked previously.

3. Keyontae Johnson rose into the top 100, he is 80th in their composite ranking but 89th by 247sports. Their recent write up on him is below:

Keyontae Johnson - No. 89

Johnson, who has loads of athletic potential, is morphing into a consistent and skilled basketball player.

With that transformation underway, Johnson has vaulted himself into the top 100 and now comes in as the No. 89 prospect in the class.

The biggest thing that has led to the bump is more consistency knocking down outside shots. Johnson really struggled in that regard as a younger prospect. This winter at Oak Hill, Johnson has looked significantly better shooting the ball from distance and it is allowing him to make more athletic plays all over the court.

Johnson is part of a loaded Florida recruiting class. Look for Johnson to be a very solid four- ear player for the Gators and be a big factor in their success on both ends of the court.

That’s complete BS. How many banners are hanging in their new arena? They’ve been to exactly one Sweet Sixteen in their storied history. ONE! Never made is past that, so how is it a “small step down”? Their program is on par with UNF...not UF.

Great to see we are beefing up.

Exactly, and BTW, I consider Keyontae Johnson to be a SG. Maybe White deserves a bit of a pass if the Emmitt Williams fiasco messed the big White would have had in the class, but it is hard to be sure about that.
