Will Ole Miss go after Mike White? Do you care if they do?

Seriously you claim to be a fan of UF and clearly do not know that UF in the last 25 years has been to the final four 5 times and to the round of eight 9 times. That is making the round of eight every 2.8 years and more frequently in the last decade.

The idea that a coach can not win as big year in and year out at UF as anywhere is preposterous. UF has already done that over the last 25 years.

You actually proved my point exactly, while trying to disagree with me. I said that at UF as well as many other schools, you could be a serious contender every 2-3 years with the right combo. And your point says exactly that. Having a 20 win season or just making the tourney does not make you a serious contender. No one remembers or cares that you lose in the first weekend of the tourney. This year alone I think every team in the SEC has an overall winning record and all but Pitt probably have an overall winning record in the ACC and almost all have a winning record in the Big 12. That makes the conference very competitive but it does not make all of them serious contenders. I was not denigrating the program and just b/c I am a fan does not mean I can't state my opinion. We have a good program just like 30 or 40 other places. We just can't expect final 4 or bust every year like Duke, or UK, or UNC, or KU can or has the last 30+ years.

Why is it that Mick Cronin can't ever get mentioned for a somewhat big job in a better conference. Is it b/c he is like 5'3" and does not look like he has ever played basketball? Cincy was shunned by the ACC and now play in the whatever conference. But Cronin wins pretty consistently there and his team this year seems to be able to score the ball a little better than his past teams. Yes I know UF beat them early, but they have ripped off like 20 in a row or 18 of 19 or whatever. The point is they have not ridden the roller coaster or seesaw like most teams have, especially this year. I think he is a pretty decnt coach and has competed across conferences in his years.
Because he sucks. I can't stand watching slow grind it out basketball.

You say you never want to talk about basketball or “non revenue” sports and yet here you are. Never missing the opportunity to spew trash. As Shrek would say, shut up donkeeeyyy!

Btw, we are projected as a 4 seed in the tourney ;)

Actually NO. Your point is a two part point distilled down to the last sentences above. As I said in the last 25 years UF has been to the round of 8, ie regional finals 9 times. Here are the numbers of regional finals or better for the four schools you mention:

Duke: 8 times
UK: 10 times
UNC: 12 times
KU: 10 times

Now there are other metrics, but I chose this one originally. You could argue that we should look at missed tourneys or rounds of 16s made etc. I think the point is made that over the last 25 years UF has competed year in and year out as much as anyone.

I guess my real mistake was not understanding that you like me and most fans, know more about your team and just assume that every year Duke, UK, UNC and KU are there because they get the most publicity. They are basketball centric and UF is not so get more publicity. The fans at those schools have not had Danny Wuerffel or Tim Tebow or Rex Grossman not to mention many fine WRs, RBs and defensive players from 1994 to 2018 to distract them from basketball like UF fans have. Basketball is all those school have so you may think they compete more for the title in basketball than UF,. but as I said, UF has been right there year in an year out competing for the title in NCAA basketball though I guess you could quibble about 9 verse 10 years too.

As Insta is alluding to I dont think fans realize what a successful BB program we have. You can take almost all the rest of the SEC in total (sans UK) and our record is way better. In my lifetime I remember LSU making a FF once, Georgia once. Misery and Ark are not real SEC schools but they had some real BB success too. That many final fours and elite eights is ELITE. Up there with the real BB schools. AND make no mistake they are basketball schools with no real football. It is their whole athletic identity. We had/have both with football. We aint like the 30 or 40 other "good" schools in BB. Our last quarter century proves it.

No, i don't think we will leave or listen to Mississippi.

Yes, I would be upset if he left. He has his best class incoming and could be even better the following year. He is building something great again here

Sorry T but Shaka is not doing that good at Texas. First year 20-13, 2nd year 11-22, This year 15-11 so Texas not doing that good under Smart and he has a NBA lottery pick Bamba on his team. We would be in meltdown mode if we lost 22 games under White in ONE season...

Sorry to disappoint all the White Haters....

“I have no interest at all,” White said. “I love Ole Miss, my wife loves Ole Miss. It’s a great place. Great people. Oxford is an awesome town. Ole Miss has been really, really good to me. But we are so fortunate to be here at Florida. It’s one of the best jobs in the country. And I’m not interested in any other job.”

Smart man. Now jump on the bandwagon and come aboard for the big wins.
